Sandatharius Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Every Sim comes with Tray and Mods specific to the Sims that are being uploaded. Until recently, I just placed the Tray files for those Sims into the proper folder and made individual folders that contain the mods and clothing for each of the Sims I download. I know that's not the best procedure, and often, the Mods in the Zips are from 2019-2026 in many cases. I've downloaded a lot of Sims from the LL site, and I was curious about other users' procedures. What do other people do, when downloading user-made Sims?
Sandyman33 Posted June 8 Posted June 8 (edited) If I download a bunch of sims from a particular creator, I usually put all the mods into the same folder, as there is often an overlap of mods used. Individual folders if it's a one-off, it's generally easier for troubleshooting. I then delete any included sliders (to avoid conflicts with my existing ones), and check whether there are any gameplay/trait mods which might be bundled with the sim. I remove any that I already have, then check if there are updated versions of those I don't. But generally I just remove anything that's not strictly CAS CC. I then run my entire mods folder through Sims 4 Mod Manager to quickly check for any duplicate mods and delete the ones recently downloaded. This usually keeps the game free of LE's and weird bugs. If anything goes wrong, fixing it is usually easier after this procedure. Edited June 8 by Sandyman33 Grammar
FauxFurry Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I generally just use the Gallery feature to download sims for better looking townies. If not, I only use the Tray files then substitute whatever they are missing in CAS.
