Good ol' Neck Gap issue. Closed Question.

And I give up. I can't fix that gap. All the Bodyslide and other alterations I make don't change what's on the final result, even using recycleactor.    🥺

If anyone has a desire to fix the mod and PM it to me  then I'd be excruciatingly happy because this is by far my favourite Faye replacer. The author hasn't been around since January and hasn't responded to my message.  (Would it be worth sending him/her the fix, too, for others to enjoy? )

The revamp is here:  https://www.loverslab.com/topic/204514-seductress-faye-revamped-visual-replacement-racemenu-preset/

Otherwise, many thanks all for your interest and support!

  1. Is this with or without the "Revamped Beast Mode" option?
  2. With or without UUNP bodyslides?
  3. Version 1.7 of the original mod?

Traison! Are you sure? You could be in for a world of pain....

Original mod is Faye v 1.7 CBBE version,  I don't use UUNP and I'm not using the Beast Mode Textures.

Well, if you have the time and interest, I shall be deeply grateful.  This neck gap has resisted everything I can throw at it short of surgery in an operating theatre.

And that includes everything in Outfit Studio with neck seam sliders and playing about stretching meshes.

Almost done disconnecting it from FG. That's irrelevant for testing meshes anyways.

I have a sharp knife.

Edit: Base 1.7 + SeductressFayeRevamped install (disconnected from FG) does not show neck gap. Problem not reproduced yet. Running BodySlide next.

Edit again: Faye's face is different from your original screenshot. Armor used in this screenshot is also different from options available to me now.

Edit again: Going to proceed with the facegen mesh uploaded earlier.

Edit again: Turns out uploaded head is the same head as I had before. Issue is in the armor then?

Right, here's my conclusion despite not being able to reproduce the problem:

  1. 114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped appears to provide bodies that resemble 3BAv2; they're at least 3BA.
  2. The body you uploaded in this thread earlier is base CBBE or a close descendant of it; not 3BA. A similar (or identical) body can be found in FayeFG.bsa.
  3. The body in FayeFG.bsa is not base CBBE, as it uses a different neck hole than CBBE and 3BA does.

So, a reinstall is in order. Make sure 114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped is providing the naked body and that the armor you use is truly CBBE compatible.

Edit: The body in FayeFG.bsa may be CBBE. Testing was flawed.

Thank you. That's interesting.   By reinstall, do you advise a clean save reinstall?

Edit again: Faye's face is different from your original screenshot

That's the ugly face one usually gets when doing the old setnpcweight / disable / enable routine.  The scary one I posted on page 1.

Faye revamped should look like the screenshots on the LL mod page.

Where did you get the armor from in the OP screenshot? Faye has no neck seam for me here.

That is one provided by a 3rd party. I can lose, it, no worries.

I tried using the outfit that comes with Faye Revamped but still had the neck problem.

Yeah unfortunately still going to say mod works as intended. I would have to see your setup to figure out where it went sideways.

Want screenshots or you take my word for it?

OK, I removed Revamped, and clean saved. Popped a fresh copy of 114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped and got a neck gap.  Now: I haven't Bodyslided this yet. Just threw it in as is. The outfit comes with the mod.  I'll go off and do some bodysliding.

Here's a pic:

No change with bodysliding.  This is doing my head in. You don't have a gap, I do!  I have standard set up:

CBBE

3BA

CBPC

HTD-SMP

XPMSSE

I've used it for years.

Hmm. I'm stuck. Again!

I would be interested in seeing what it looks like loaded into Outfit Studio. I fixed my earlier post about this as it was slightly flawed (or had the potential to be flawed).

  1. Start BodySlide.
  2. Start Outfit Studio from the bottom right corner button.
  3. Import the Faye armor from 114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped. Import the BodySlide built _0 nif, not the project nif from BodySlide's folders.
    1. File -> Import -> From NIF
  4. Do the same for 00000d62.nif from 114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped.
  5. Neck gap?

I see there's a neck gap when I do this here, but it's not the same as what you're seeing, nor is it what I see in-game. In-game the polygons line up perfectly from what I can tell. It's like we got 3 different situations out of one set of meshes here. Very confusing.

Edit:

\114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped\meshes\armor\faye\FayeArmor_0.nif

\114622181_SeductressFayeRevamped\meshes\actors\character\facegendata\facegeom\fayefg.esp\00000d62.nif

Edit again: Loading the _1 mesh I get the neck gap you're seeing. I suppose it is possible you can't compare facegen meshes like this. Maybe they're built for 50% weight.

Wait, you don't have highpoly head do you? This head might be HPH. You need HPH tri files for it to morph. This explains the neck gap.

Yes, HPH is installed.

Neck gap?

OK - I imported FayeArmor_0.nif  and the facegen 00000D62.nif into Outfit Studio.

Here's the pic! No neck gap.

Nope.

You do actually. I see it. Put the camera close and look up. The neck is larger than the neck hole; looks fine fron the front, not so much closeup or from below.

Anyways, that's the same as I'm seeing. So, safe to say then that it's something in-game or the HPH morph files?

Oh yes - looking closely there is a mismatch.  Eyes aren't so good these days.  The Revamped mod has HPH morph files in it but I've not the ability to understand how they work and what they do.

So far as I can tell, I only have one other cosmetic file that touches HPH, and I tried running with that mod removed. Which made no difference.

I might pull up racemenu and have a look at the head file in that...

When you did setnpcweight, I assume you did 0 and 100. Does the neck gap go away with 50?

No. The neckgap does disappear until I run the disable/enable to restore the face. The end result is it remains.

I just loaded up the Preset and NIF in Racemenu and it fitted pretty well on my character - no neck gaps.

Your head is for some reason not morphing with weights. Still saying HPH tri files or tri files in general is what is causing this.

Posted
  1. Go get More Informative Console.
  2. Start the game, find Faye.
  3. Open the console and select Faye.
  4. Use MIC to create a list of all headparts.
  5. Use xEdit to go through your list, and create another list of tri files associated with these HDPT records.
  6. Query your mod manager for which mods are providing these files.

If you have questions about any specific files I can query my setup here for where mine is coming from if you want to 1:1 this.

OK - already run MIC.  Is there a handy console command for the HDPTs?

If this was happening on your player character you could dump HDPTs as part of a racemenu preset.

This *might* work, never used it:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38400

I also have a conversion of the Mimic Plugin that was available for Skyrim LE RaceMenu. Available upon request. I'm fairly certain I made this conversion myself, or it works OOTB.

Does this answer your question? List in this utility (pic below).  Here eyes are wrong - but would that be the neck gap cause?
