Mod Organizer question

First I apologize if this is a dumb question, and/or it has already been answered somewhere.   I'm stuck here, and about to fall asleep in my chair, I'm reading topics but the words are just running together now, so I thought I would just ask, and check back tomorrow.

Been trying to get a Skyrim game started with mods, I got rid of NMM before I got too far and started using MO.  Love it.   Everything is going fine, as I load some base mods off the nexus and test them.    I just configured it to use the button on the mod's page to download.

But when I got to installing the mods that are only available here, I got stuck.  If I try to download them into the same directory that MO has been putting them in when I get them from the nexus, it tells me it doesn't have permission to download the mod there.    How am I supposed to be doing this part?

I see the button that says import from an archive.  Does that mean I have to put the ones I download manually from here in some other directory?  I'd like to have them all in one place, if possible.

Any help would be appreciated!

Download the mods from here into a folder that's easy to find and keep the compressed archives. Click MO's button to install from an archive, choose one of the archives you've saved and away it goes (assuming the folder's structure is what MO expects it to be). You can, and probably should, do the same with mods from the Nexus (just download manually over there).

By keeping these archives on your computer you then have them for as long as you want them, can use them at any time and you'll have copies after the mod author(s) gets banned from Nexus!

I would guess you installed MO to a {Program Files} folder, and are running into UAC difficulties.

Would have been better to install to C:\Mod Organizer

Still possible to do so, just install another copy of MO, and move the contents of the /Mod Organizer/downloads folder to the same named folder of the NEW install. (that would be all the archive files)

I currently have 5 instances of MO running - Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion, Skyrim Stable & Skyrim Perverted

Personally I just use the manual browser download which I have set to ask for save location and then I download them to a sorted group of directories such as Skyrim/Bodies or Skyrim/Armor. This just seems the easiest over the long run to me. Also I never install programs or tools that I intend to mod into the program directory as it just adds another possible level of failure.
