The question of the decade: which schlong mod base to choose?

I am currently in the middle of the making of yet another Skyrim setup for myself, and once again I find myself thinking: "What dick mod should I use?"

 

Shortly, I believe in modern day Skyrim (1170, with or without paywalled CC, it doesn't really matter I believe) there are three unequally represented options:

1. SOS SE + AE .dll - one of the oldest ones in the book, supported by the prayers of its users and Todd's ideology "It just works".

2. TNG - the "go-to" option in modern day Skyrim modding (it seems like this to me at least), being much more modern and optimized than good ol' SOS, I still managed to find myself in a situation when I couldn't find that one dick mod converted to TNG, so I just decided to try my luck elsewhere, which lead me to the option...

3. SOS AE-NG - complete remake of SOS on CommonLibSSE-NG, supposed to be better than the original, but manages to make itself incompatible with a lot of SOS addons from my experience with it in the past week or so.

 

Will SOS AE-NG ever replace TNG as the main dick mod or will everyone just stick to using it as it was with SOS until it became so old it became a burden to use it?

 

p.s. I wish someone made an RSV-patch (for BNP, of course) compendium for addons like TRX, Leito's and other addons, after so many years I still cant find enough willpower to make them myself.

I've never managed to get SOS SE + AE.dll to work, TNG mainly works for me, but you do get the odd issue with missing dicks or weird strecthing issues. Haven't tried SOS AE-NG yet.

I've never looked back since swapping to TNG - it's been stable and reliable for me. I have no interest in futa stuff though, so no idea what support looks like on that front.

Honestly, I almost always felt like TNG was some kind of a "step back" in terms of content variety. I have no idea to this day whether it works with Creature content or not. For me, TNG always resonated with OStim ideology of being "vanilla-esque" in terms of sexual content. Maybe I am just imagining things.

TNG intentionally does not support creatures afaik but I've always used CF/MNC/ABC for creatures, which works fine, so that seems like a non-issue.

From what I understand, the choice really depends on stability and compatibility with your current setup.

 

In my case I usually prefer a base that is actively maintained and works well with other common mods, even if it has fewer features.

 

Too many features can sometimes lead to script load or conflicts.

 

I think for most users, a stable and widely supported option is the safer choice, especially if you are running a large mod list.

 

Curious to know what others are currently using and why.
