outpatient Posted April 12 Posted April 12 It seems that now the only download on the web for the Waalx Animals & Creatures mod is at TES Alliance. However, downloading anything from TES Alliance requires a forum account. I tried to make an account on TES Alliance, and more than a day later I still haven't received the confirmation email to activate my account, so I'm unable to download the mod. Unfortunately, the TES Alliance forum seems to be dead... There are no registered members or admins online, the last post in any of the forums was from way back in January, and I suspect the new account registration system is broken. Given the site seems to be in such poor shape, even if I were able to register an account, it seems questionable if the download would even work for such a large mod as Waalx Animals & Creatures. I don't actually need the full WAC mod, just the meshes and textures for the armor and clothing. If anyone happens to have those and can send them to me, I'd appreciate it!
mma75online Posted April 13 Posted April 13 not really still few links available to download this mod. https://anvilbay.net/zagruzki/download/90-globalnye-plaginy/1202-waalx-animals-creatures-wac.html
outpatient Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 Oh sweet, thanks! I didn't think to check anvilbay. The version of the mod there is in Russian, but that doesn't matter to me since all I want to do it pull out some meshes and textures.
outpatient Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 Gah, unfortunately that didn't work. There's something wrong with the archive on anvilbay, the bsa inside it is corrupt. Trying to extract the BSA yields a bunch of weird filepaths and even some corrupt files. Looks like trying to get an account on TES Alliance is still the only way to get WAC...
mma75online Posted April 13 Posted April 13 The file is fine, I download it extract with WinRAR then use obmm to extract wac.bsa & everything goes fine no corrupted files in both extraction ( rar + bsa ). Spoiler
fejeena Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Same here, can unpack the file and can extract the bsa. In one of the patch files are a few weapon and robe/hats nif files, not in a bsa.
outpatient Posted April 14 Author Posted April 14 Weird. I used BAE to try to extract wac.bsa, and it definitely did not extract properly. Even browsing wac.bsa with BAE showed weird filepaths. But you're right, OBMM can extract the bsa just fine. I don't like using OBMM because it insists on installing into the main Oblivion install folder, and I don't like doing that since I'm using MO2 to manage my install/modlist. I dunno why BAE choked on that bsa file. I've used it to unpack bsas from other Oblivion mods and it worked just fine.
fejeena Posted April 14 Posted April 14 usually use the Fallout Mod Manager. I don't currently have Fallout 3 installed, but I do have the old folder and the FOMM. Since Fallout has far fewer mods than Oblivion, the Fallout Mod Manager starts much faster. Then I go to BSA Unpacking, switch to my Oblivion folder, and unpack a Oblivion BSA. I also use FOMM to pack BSA files. Because Fallout isn't installed FOMM automatically installs the new BSA files in the Oblivion folder. OBMM takes way too long to start and close. So you must not use the OBMM or FOMM, you only have to install it. If you don't want a conflict with Oblivion, and MO2 do not install the OBMM. Install a FOMM.
