M.BISON Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 hello i finished building my first gaming pc and i am now split for decision whether to buy a monitor1080p (originally intended to) or a 32"1080p LED tv? was thinking of getting of getting a tv to save space, comfort and have my consoles all hooked up to one thing how has your experience been using a LED tv? hopefully this makes sense because im half a sleep

Guest Mogie56 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I have an LED TV, Works fine for me. I don't need to hook up my 360 to the TV since I have a capture card on my PC that handles that. Now if they would just make games in true 3D, or at least games I like. LOL
draginass1968 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I have been using a 37 inch lcd for a couple of years now along with a second monitor for web searches while in game and everything has worked just fine for me. I also have a TV card installed with a VCR hooked to it so I can make some money digitizing peoples home movies for them. Love it all.

twichie Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 these days there is not much difference in the technology used to make PC based LCD monitors or TV sets, the LED component is mostly just describing the backlight (google how a LCD is made) if at any stage you get the icons or windows toolbar burnt into it, just leave it on a static Blue screen (no not a BSOD) the colour blue seems to help descuise the LCD burn in they sometimes get the upside of using a TV for a PC monitor is if you use the HDMI out of your GPU you also can use the sound features in most newer cards to add to a sound system the only thing that would be a problem is sitting too close and on that note, one of these would be awesome as a PC monitor if you had a large enough blank wall in your house Projectors work well too
gregathit Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 LED is probably fine but LCD isn't always. I tried using my Sony BRAVIA W-Series KDL-52W4100 (52") with HDMI hookup and it suffered awful tearing for FPS games. Mass Effect 3 was one of the games I tested it with and it was terrible. Now strangely the Total War games were fine on it (Empire, ME2, Napoleon and RT2). I went and picked up a 27" gaming monitor instead and am much happier.
