Sicon3 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 As the subject line suggests whenever my female nord character transforms into a werewolf they go through what appears to be a normal transformation and the post transformation howl then promptly turn invisible. Sexlab Werewolves also seems to be non-functional at this time which may or may not be linked. I suspect it is some form of either mesh or script incompatibility but this install is otherwise so stable and I'm already 20 hours in so i am extremely reticent to make major changes lest i destroy the save so i am hoping for a simple fix or at least something i can do manually without affecting load order. Mods used that affect werewolves: (in relative load order) - Ultimate Optimized Scripts Compilation (only affects transform script) - Growl v3.4.1 - At Your Own Pace Companions - Changes some aspects of becoming a werewolf (i actually became one via a random nighttime event rather than through the companions questline) - Schlongs of Skyrim (as prereq for Animal SOS) - MoreNastyCritters SE - Sexlab WerewolvesRedux - BakaFactory Animated Beast Cocks - Animal SOS First up we have the script folder in MO2 when i search for 'werewolf' As you can see the scripts do end up coming from several different sources due to the variety of mods I am using and its possible i may need to unify which is being used. My instinct tells me its something to do with playerwerewolfchangescript.psc but i don't know for sure. Looking at the mesh tree we see that we have again several mods contributing to the common core of this with Animal SOS taking precedence for most situations. the PGPatch overwriting the herm werewolf seems like a possible issue although the transformation hasn't lasted long enough before going invisible for me to even be sure which model it is drawing from for her. Yet again all NPC werewolves be they the companions or wild ones behave and appear completely normally in game. Here are all variants spawned using the MNC spells Alternative Possible Explaination: Is it possible this is instead an issue with my 3rd person camera? I notice that dragons turn invisible if i get too close is it possible there is an interaction occurring with my 3rd person camera causing this behavior for my own werewolf form as well? I am using True Directional Movement and SmoothCam which has its own adjustment options for werewolves but i imagine the default settings should be working right? Anyway any ideas you may have would be appreciated. Cheers

I just did more testing and its interesting to say the least. Firstly by companions being as expected i mean when they transform as a part of Proving Honor with Farkas or getting Aela into combat to the point where she transforms both appear as normal and work just fine I also learned that if i fast travel (using COC) to force a mesh reset the werewolf form appears and works for a short while before i start hearing equip/unequip sounds and it disappears again. Also i managed to get Sexlab's werewolves combat sex feature to work but it causes my werewolf form to turn invisible immediately. At this point my theory is that something is causing the werewolf armor/body to equip/unequip at random and its probably tied to Sexlab werewolves or a script issue Edited March 10 by Sicon3

Unquip items until the problem goes away: unequipitem <formid> Query your mod manager for which mod provides this item. Read the mod description for a potential answer to why this item is missing its mesh. Alternatively, More Informative Console might point out the missing mesh directly.

I just went through each step described and the werewolf form is still invisible 1. confirmed that Growl is loaded correctly after MNC 2. Removed ASOS and redid PGPatcher because it had it as a dependency 3. still trying to see what's going on there. My only guess is that is because i became a werewolf through different means i'll have to figure that out for now i'm checking other things Edited March 10 by Sicon3

Make sure the meshes exist, and if they do, query your mod manager for the mods providing these. Remove or otherwise change these mods.

Now i have the perennial issue of Sexlab werewolves herm mode not getting erect but i can probably figure that out by going back to that thread. Its almost like the game just isn't updating the equipped mesh... huh now i wonder if part of optimizing that script was them removing a mesh update check (not the right erm but you know what i mean)
MadMansGun Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) you have werehermplayer installed, that mod changes the player's werewolf form to the herm werewolf, so either something is messing up the herm werewolves or you are playing as a custom race. Quote ABC: the "MNC_ABC_Patch.esp" file found in that mod is turning the herm werewolves into male (and is also messing up the Player Hermaphrodite Werewolf patch because of it), turn off and/or delete that esp from that mod. Quote Bash/Smash patches: they can be known to mess up the body template flags on some creatures. Quote Total Werewolf Overhaul (TWO): it has a patch for HCOS in it but HCOS no longer has werewolf meshes in it, so using that patch will only cause more problems. Edited March 11 by MadMansGun
traison Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) Typically when meshes disappear it's an equipment slot or mesh partition conflict. For instance, you can wear a hat that has a partition 32 in it. Wearing this hat will hide your body. If the equipment slot for this hat is something other than 32, you can even wear armor with this hat, but the armor will still be invisible. Hence why the list of worn items is important. Any hat, tail, ear or ballsack pube can be the issue. Other reasons why meshes disappear: The file itself is missing. You have a dll that's dynamically swapping out meshes to ones that do not exist. Does such a mod exist? Probably. One of the physics systems is breaking the mesh. I think SMP used to do this waaaay back. CBPC does it in Fallout 4. The NiSkinData offset is wrong. If it's positioned outside the viewable area of the camera, the mesh is no longer rendered. This is an issue in TAWOBA for example. Edit: To test for the NiSkinData issue, swing your camera around and zoom in/out. View from below, behind, above, ... does the mesh appear at some angles? If that can't be done safely i'll abandon being a werewolf altogether. Could i instead use x-edit to get rid of the changes within that ESP? I'd prefer a known ITM in this instance I do also have a bashed patch so i could try regenerating that too but that doesnt fix issue 1 Or wait I'm also using Children of Lilith would that screw with character race? I've also gone ahead and just disabled the MNCWereHermPlayer.esp its not work killing a save to deal with that. Whenever i attempt to use the ability it schlongifies the taget, I'm still only seeing the male model and After using it all game interaction ceases to work and i have to reload a save At least i can just be a normal werewolf even if sexlab werewolves is just kaputt. Truth be told i've been playing and modding skyrim since 2011 and werewolves have always been fuckey i don't think i've ever gotten sexlab werewolves to work correctly and half my playthroughs have had werewolves so broken you couldn't even be in the same cell as them without massive visual bugs or worse. EasyNPC: I don't know the details of what this program it's doing, just that it's causing problems. I assume its creating the same issue as the above, and therefor has the same fix. SOS: double dick problems, you need to turn off werewolves under all of its mcm settings. if that fails to work then a more extreme fix can be found in the ModCompatibilityKit. One With Nature - Dynamic Animals and Creatures: it does not cover the female creatures added by mnc you need to add OWNWerewolfFaction "OWN Werewolf Faction" [FACT:xx00388B] to the female werewolf's faction, and OWNAbilityWerewolf "OWNAbilityWerewolf" [SPEL:xx04FBA9] to the female werewolf's actor effects. Moonlight Tales: that piece of shit is not even compatible with itself, let alone other werewolf mods. remove it and never look at it again. I don't think i have the serana or valerica esps unless the serana one is Trueblood Serana and it is higher in the load order than MNC now. Now here could be the issue I did use Alternate start/live another life but also went and used the vanilla start immediately after that so i escaped Helgen with Ralof etc. And really the only changes i want with regards to werewolves is for them to work and have belter gameplay hence Growl i've been actively avoiding pushing things too far in general. Well says the man with 1310 plugins (202 ESP+ESM) Yet believe it or not this is the most stable skyrim installation i've ever modded the only issues besides this are a single table and the static model of the woodcutter's axe which absolutely refused to be textured under any circumstances and i can live with that Anyway i'm at work so testing will be spotty (remote job) until later. but i do really appreciate all the assistance UPDATE: As you can see moving Bijin MNC and Growl around a bit has made the werewolf form female which is marked progress. Trying to start a scene did cause a crash but i'm investigating that i think it was due to the setup not finishing the modlist takes a minute (~2min) after loading a save to stabilize if i try and do too much (change cells, toggle first/third repeatedly, try and call different python based mod functions at once, or go in and out of inventories more than a few times) or save immediately again it tends to crash but after that peiod it becomes stable. My guess here was that i need to re-register CreatureFramework swap parts and try again. Also i checked and i am using MNCSEv16.1 and CreatureFrameworkV3-2 so i'm going to update to MNCSEv16.1A and CreatureFrameworkV3-2A and rebuild Pandora. Edited March 11 by Sicon3

Well other than having that initial scene in the abandoned prison i believe it just puts you through the normal startup afterwards just skips character creation since its already done. again nothing else has proven at all problematic. Truth be told the only reason i use it is from years of the main intro being broken by generating behaviors with FINS thus making it necessary. I understand and bear witness to the fact that that has since been fixed with other mods but tradition dies hard Edited March 11 by Sicon3

Something about this process and the changes i made have caused the bend schlong hotkey for sexlab to stop working any ideas what might be up with that?

traison Posted March 14 Posted March 14 There is only one location in version 166b where "PositionOffsets(" is printed, and it's in an unused function. You have something altering SL's scripts. Odds are that's what has broken your dong key too.
