Follower-Demo.esp

I have been running with a character for some time, and decided to add a few more follower mods, Once I had finished installing I tried to continue to play and got an error message "This save relies on  Follower-Demo.esp" To the best of my knowledge it's something I havent conciously downloaded ( checked my download history for the past 5 years for Nexus !!!) If I ignore the message the game starts perfectly well and before there can be any action my character dies and Vortex CTDs to desktop. I have searched Nexus without success, likewise at LL. Does anyone know what this damn mod/.esp is and where to find it? Any help would be appreciated.

If you haven't had any problems for a long time, and they only occurred when you made additions, I would start by disabling/uninstalling these additions.

 

Most likely, it was installed in the options of some mod, as happened to me. I had invisible NPCs around, and they were generated by a suit.

The source of the problem is almost certainly here. In your installations, you can also search for this Follower-Demo.esp and delete it. Theoretically, once the source is removed, the problem is removed.

Might help if you said which game it is.

Have you tried searching your mods folder for the file? The name of the mod and the name of the esp don't have to be the same so searching for 'follower_demo' may well be pointless. Assuming this is a follower mod, the name of the follower in game does not have to be the same as the name of the esp.

 

Fink dead, dead hard to try to remember any follower mods you dumped recently.

Set Vortex's plug-in list by name and see if the plug-in is there but unticked/disabled.

If you have follower mods' archives on your computer then go through them double-clicking on the archive and drill down till you can see the esp.

Thanks mate that's the varmint! Certainly with my set-up NOT enabling the install caused havoc, I can now get back into the game and play as long as I don't try and use any spells, if I do then I get an instant CTD. Need more reserch I think.

 

Sorry GreyCloud I  forgot to mention this is Skyrim SE. I went back and checked through all the mods I downloaded that day, dis-abled them and the problem remained.
