total newby Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I remember someone asking why NG was not catered for as much of late.. I think the census was most people will have upgraded to AE on Steam or use old gen from GOG... I know my mate had a bit of a indifference with some mod author who basically said in his description that his mod may not work on old gen but everyone should be using AE.. But as pointed out to said mod author not everyone uses steam for whatever reasons I don,t i like to own the games i pay for but hey thats me.. People can spend their money how they want nothing to do with me or anyone else... 1

Aylis Posted August 13 Author Posted August 13 (edited) Verified Creations (aka paid mods) I've checked a few ones as I had some coins left... Vault Tec Survival Capsules (Video) The capsules arn't too bad, you get some safe spots in the commonwealth. In addition ou get some lore and useful items. For survival a good addition. Otherwise only if you really want something like this. Experimental Weapons L War (Video) Single weapon plus some binoculars. Doesn't look very usable, uses a side-magazine and too expensive. Nope, we get better things for free. Vault 111 Canteen (Video) Adds a small feature from FNV. But taking a small sip from your canteen isn't a mod that should cost something. Nope, not recommended. Vault-Tec Stash (Video) Linked boxes that allow you to access the stored Items wherever you have a stash box. Not recommended. I don't see much use for it and for just having a box as decoration its too expensive. Barriers & Sandbags (Video) This feels like an improved version of 'Sandbag Fortifications'. The 'trenches' are gone and the barriers too (I actually never used those). What got added are different colors, animations when they get hit and much improved snapping. On top of that are the new building parts. I really missed gunports. Recommended. A bit expensive but imho better than the old mod by the same author. __________________________________________________ Added 'Barriers and Sandbags' as an option to 'Subgroup: Sandbags' in 'Building Defense'. Added 'Vault-Tec Survival Capsule' as an option to 'World and Quests'. __________________________________________________ Its hard to test a bugfix if you havn't encountered the bug before. Is the patch working or was it never needed in the first place? 🤔 Edited August 14 by Aylis

Aylis Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 (edited) O.o Modders are really active for FO4. There are quite a few new mods coming out and I'll be checking the ones that might be useful for us. Right now I'm going through mods for the 'Building' section. I found quite a few that might be useful and some older ones that sound good (hopefully they still work). Greed never changes... Just found a new creation: 'Take your time - Quests don't autostart'. A mod to solve a problem of the game. Or better said a bugfix you have to pay 500 Atoms for. This is something that really pisses me off! I paid for the sandbag mod, even if there is a free version, to support the author. That was my choice (and not that expensive). But this here, especially with that price, is something that shouldn't exist. Thankfully we got free options in the guide for that. Edited August 23 by Aylis
YuFeng Posted August 23 Posted August 23 @Aylis It isn't that it stopped working, it just gets overwritten by LEO. And if we put the Armor pack 3 after the second one, then that would also get overwritten by both the SPECIAL stats and LEO. So we'd need a patch for all three. Armor Pack 3 - SPECIAL - LEO Patch.esp 1
Aylis Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 (edited) @YuFeng Got it (and found another mod that messed it up again). One question though: you meant 'New Equipment Overhaul (NEO)' right? __________________________________________________ And after two days tinkering (aka ripping everything apart) I got my FO4 working again. A modgroup that was supposed to fix several issues with physics and other things completely wrecked it instead. I got to see what can be salvaged and work before I'll be able to add those. So far two were eliminated, now to the rest... Edited August 25 by Aylis
deff. Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Somatic FPV camera Pretty cool mod, I must say. Only thing that it messing up with FO4PhotoMode camera movement, while active. When Somatic is turned off via key, everything is fine. Good, that mod have toggle key for on/off
Aylis Posted August 29 Author Posted August 29 (edited) @deff. Interesting mod but it seems to have some issues. I'll track it as the author said he's working on an update to fix the problems. ___________________________________________________ Working on Spoiler Adaptive Combat Tactics (ACT) First run made the game massively more dangerous. total newby Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I have been playing with the adaptive combat tactics mod for a while now, and what i found is you need to run it on it,s own IE no other AI attack mod or you may as well run the Real AI mod and play a full on fighting game instead of a quest style game The filled counters mod is great clip them into the counters at starlight drive in to see their full potential...I use the all in one version so you get the weapons and armor boards as well as the clothing shelves makes building shops and stores easier and looking better.. 1
Aylis Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 @total newby Nice info. Tested them and will add them in the building update. But I'll have to make a subgroup for the weapon groups. ACT will be added too. The enemies are now challenging and use tactics. They almost remind me of the ones in F.E.A.R.
total newby Posted September 1 Posted September 1 I've been playing a combined mix of your old list with Simpossible xx on my new rig with some new additions... While you are beavering away hard on this new list which i will be having a go at.. might just have to pluck up the courage and buy the game on Steam It was more to see if i can get it to run right in 4k but ended with mixed results too many different size textures i think.. Plus it would probably help if i knew a lot more about PC,s...
Aylis Posted September 1 Author Posted September 1 @total newby Textures are relatively easy. The things you get close to (skin, armors, weapons and signs) are best in 4K. For the rest go with 2K or less. Plants are debatable, for those that have the option, I go with 4K too. Leaves and vines look simply better in closeup. 8K, what gets sometimes offered, is more for the ego (and screenshots). You have to get very close to get some use of it and it is very taxing on the system. I got a Radeon 1970 XT and won't use that resolution for gaming.
Aylis Posted September 1 Author Posted September 1 (edited) Building at Starlight. Spoiler Main layout (shacks in front will come later). So far ~6500 concrete and ~3000 steel. total newby Posted September 1 Posted September 1 (edited) looks well and also seems adaptable for extra building etc... i,ve been playing around in Sanctuary not really lore friendly but i will try most building mods to see how they work...The two main mods i use is CVC wasteland very good for lore games and have a ton of useful stuff and concrete and glass development, first time i have used that one Only loading one pic as i need to find a new hosting site since Imgur left the UK Edited September 2 by total newby missed a section out
Aylis Posted September 2 Author Posted September 2 (edited) Hotfix Moved CCC - Settlement - Vault Dwellers C.A.M.P just below PRP to prevent visual glitches. ___________________________________________________ First new audio mod works perfectly. The other one needs some tweaking of the LO. __________________________________________________ Second one now works too. When they hit you in your PA and the bullets bounce off. Makes it so much more immersive... Its always the small details, the ones you don't really think about, that have such a drastic impact. Once used you can't play without them anymore. And no, I've got only a few creation mods (most of them were free anyway). __________________________________________________ It can be annoying if you use a Radeon as some scopes are just broken and their textures arn't rendered correctly. Rare or still accessable in some areas? We already have the M4, M14, M16, the AR platform etc. So is this gun an option to add or should I skip it? On one hand it fits the timeframe of the game and is an 'iconic' weapon. On the other hand it might be too much. 'Visible Favorites - F4SE (Video)' is a good replacement for the old 'Classic Holstered Weapons'. Once configured, still tinkering with that, it is a huge improvement. OOB it recognized my backpack and placed my rifle correctly. Stimpack and grenades are the ones where I have to look closer, same as not displaying them going to sleep or using the shower...
