Skyrim suddenly uninstalling my creations and MO2 complaining about missing masters of CC

I recently upgraded from Skyrim SE with some additional content to Skyrim AE. Everything went well. Game started and I even did some additional of this AE content during my active playthrough yesterday. Now I want to start Skyrim via MO2/SKSE like I already have done a ton of times and suddenly I am confronted with two errors which I think are related:

1. MO2 complains about missing masters of the CC content for mods relying on said content. Not just from the newer content, but even for CC I already owned before the upgrade and before the start of my playthrough

2. When I started Skyrim and wanted to load my game, the game gave an error that this save relied on all the CC that uninstalled itself somewhow, even the content I already owned prior. The game redownloaded and I tried to reload the game. Then I got confronted by the error plugins were missing: the plugins supposedly missing the masters.

I am not sure what to do, because this issue didn't exist yesterday. It says to enable the required plugins, but every plugin I can enable was already enabled. The CC plugins outside for fishing, survival mode, curios and ccbgssse025-advdsgs.esm (Saints and Seducers I think, searching doesn't give an answer?) aren't present and those plugins I can't even touch anyway.

I haven't been into Creations menu in the game. I just went MO2 > SKSE.exe > run > Continue in the game. I haven't removed anything, only added a completely irrelevant and independent armor mod from Nexus between yesterday and today (Caress of Venus). I treid to Google results, but I only get about people wanting to get rid of auto installed CC, not something like this.

And did you check your mods etc to see if anything needed upgrading to the Skyrim version you are now running?

If by 'SE' you mean version 1.5.x and by 'AE' you mean version 1.6.x then you will definitely need to upgrade some things. SKSE would be one example.

No, I meant the content in terms of SE vs AE. I am playing the Steam version, thus my game was technically already 1.6.x

But I think I already found what went wrong. I opened Skyrim for the first time after the AE Upgrade via MO2/SKSE instead of Steam itself. MO2 installed the newly downloaded content into my Overwrite, which I emptied due to thinking it was just some cache from a shader mod (it's usually either that or the bodyslides for an armor mod). With an empty Overwrite I went in my computer's Bin folder and I put all the CC files back into its original location (the Overwrite folder). From there I created a separate mod out of its content with all the CC in it.

MO2 stopped complaining about missing masters and the game stopped complaining about missing content once I restarted SKSE and loading my game. So it is fixed. I remembered a while back having the same issue with two other Creations I downloaded via the same way ending in the same Overwrite folder.

I will keep this up in case there are other idiots out there who made the same mistakes as me. 🙂
