I've never made mods for any game before, so I welcome your suggestions, comments, tips, and requests to bring the mod to version 1.0. !!! The mod may contain bugs that I wasn't able to test or notice, as well as bugs that I couldn't fix due to my lack of knowledge. But overall, it functions, and you can easily try it out on both the vanilla version of the game and the Carnalitas mod using the patch mod included with the files!!! !!!Version 0.1 of the mod is an alpha version. It has unfinished balance (payment, income, buffs, and debuffs). Also, the events are more introductory than full-fledged storylines. In the future, I plan to refine the mod to the point of having an "interesting story" and "useful gameplay"!!! Features This mod adds a decision that will lead to the construction of a Brothel in the player's capital. To make the decision, you must have an empty construction slot in the capital and a certain amount of coins. The Brothel has three development levels, each of which unlocks new, unique court positions specifically for working in the brothel, as well as unique tasks for each that affect various aspects of the player and the county, such as "health bonus," "increased income," "brothel worker health bonus," and so on. Brothel level 1 unlocks 3 positions: - Brothel Maids - 2 Dancers Brothel level 2 unlocks 3 more positions: - Brothel Security - 2 additional Dancers (for a total of 4) Brothel level 3 also unlocks 3 additional positions: - Brothel Administrator - 2 additional Dancers (for a total of 6) Each brothel level is tied to its own event tree. Once level 1 of the brothel has been built, the player can visit the establishment and see the specific event associated with that level of the building. Other levels have different events accordingly. The brothel grants a trait to the player and its workers upon reaching a certain amount of experience (a year in the position). toynbeeidea Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Well, an immediate problem is a lack of a descriptor.mod in the main folder, making the mod not installable in Irony Mod Manager. Easy to fix, just a copy and rename the existing .mod files and copy them into the mod's root directory. NOW I'll go test it out...
ghostfalll Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Also kind of surprised the mod adds only allows for adding a brothel in a realm's capital, not just any sufficiently advanced city... though I guess that may require a bunch of extra balancing to handle the tradeoff with tying up a building slot that would overwise give other bonuses for what is basically more gold. Still, could be interesting for the mod to also add travel events for when a player visits a foreign capital's brothel? Plus, could also be interesting to make brothel profitability have a % increase for each "exotic" dancer, though dunno how game allows for calculating as much... differences in religion? Distance to parent realm? Specific traits? Some combination of all options?

I've just added IMM archive files to the download category. Let me know please if i've done everything correct.

Unfortunately, I could not (yet) technically solve the issue of how to add a house to the stack of buildings available for construction and build it not through a solution, but through a standard construction slot. That is why, for now, in this version, I have tied the Brothel to the capital. I hope I will be able to fix this in future versions, because I planned the possibility of building not only in the capital. As for the idea of traveling to the brothels of other rulers - a very interesting idea. I will keep it as a possibility for development, thank you very much!

You should add a way to move the brothel to a new capitol if you gain one, though, since one of my favorite things to do in the game is reform the Roman Empire, which means my capitol will inevitably move to Rome at some point. EDIT: Though, reading the above ideas, having the building be a modifier instead (if it works like Phaze's or AGOT's banks) might be a better idea that sidesteps this issue entirely. I have not actually built the smart brothel yet, which brings me to my next issue: I am trying out the new east Asian content in 1178, and nobody has any free building slots anywhere. If it were a normal building I could just build it that way. If there were a way to pay to clear space to build it before making the decision to building, like with legend-related buildings, I'd do that. If it were a Duchy building, as the brothel in DoL is, that might work too (and, in fact, maybe it'd be cool to have a patch to override DoL's kinda lame brothel with this one). Or Regula Magistri makes an entire porno holding one can build, that'd be pretty wild - a massive brothel complex. I guess I don't see why this even has to be a "Decision" to build in the first place.

I take back what I said about the DoL brothel, on its face this seems to be a worse version of that, but with events. I do like that it adds court positions though. I don't like that the game is constantly sending me notifications that I've lost Brothel Founder I and then gained Brother Founder I - that's really obnoxious. So, its a promising idea for a 0.1 release but eh... I might wait a few more versions before I try it again. Also, its IRONY Mod Manager, not IRON.

Sikici69 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 sorry for spam. i tried the mod. i can say it has a lot of potential and is generally a good mod. however, i keep getting the message "you lost Brothel founder I" and "you gain Brothel founder I". also, the mod events don't seem to be working, or not been added yet?
