Elizinator Posted February 6 Posted February 6 so earlier today, i was testing a mod. i had papyrus logging enabled. After i was done testing, i neglected to turn it off. in the span of the afternoon, without me noticing until the very end, it wrote 80 GIGABYTES of papyrus log. now yes, that might be a problem all by itself. But the real damage is that it completely filled up the drive. When i finally did notice this - i.e. when windows told me the drive was completely full - i closed the game and deleted the massive logs (i couldn't even open them. Notepad++ couldn't handle their girth. I restarted skyrim, only to hear the opening theme, which i usually have disabled. It seems my Skyrim.ini was also deleted. And ever since, the game can't start. Infinite load screen before the main menu. No crash, no error log generated. nothing. it just sits there, memory usage gradually climbing. it never loads. Here is what i have tried: disabling all addons. a few i can't disable, or the game crashes before it even gets to the ILS, but even with only four addons enabled, the menu never loads. running Skyrim.exe without SKSE. This works. but of course it isnt usable, can't play modded skyrim without SKSE. verifying game file integrity. no errors found. no help either disabling ENB. no help. re-building both .inis from scratch. first by uing BETHini Pie recommended settings, and then by jus deleting them and re-running the launcher to make new ones. no help. restarting the computer. no help. re-installed SKSE. good thing i keep backups. No help. skse64.log shows no problems anywhere. everything appears to be loading correctly. I didn't change anything, anyways. Please, I'm at my wit's end. My game is completely dead for no discernible reason. I need help.
Kastagir Posted February 6 Posted February 6 36 minutes ago, Elizinator said: skse64.log This is the Technical Support forum for regular Skyrim, aka Legendary Edition. The presence of skse64.log indicates you are using SE/AE. You should post your issue in the technical support forum for your game version: https://www.loverslab.com/forum/73-technical-support-skyrim-special-edition/ Papyrus logs don't get to be 80 GB in size unless you've changed the settings in Skyrim.ini. Remove or comment out any Papyrus entries in your Skyrim.ini other than bEnableLogging=1 to allow it to use default values. Check that you have enough drive space and your 80 GB log isn't sitting in a recycle bin continuing to fill up your drive.
Elizinator Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 yes, of course i changed the settings. that isnt the point. the logs are dead and gone. the drive has plenty of space. and skyrim cannot start with any SKSE functionality.

My game is completely dead for no discernible reason. I need help. 80 GB indicates that it's not Skyrim LE. You'd be in the wrong forum for that. Besides, the log size suggests an endless loop of call stacks. This usually means incompatible mods (e.g., LE instead of SE) or missing mods/scripts. My recommendation is to sort your mod list using Loot. Loot will also show you if mods are missing or incompatible. Whether you're posting in the LE Tech Support or SE Tech Support forum, the mod list/load order/plugins.txt file should always be included. Otherwise, we can only guess. Statements like "but even with only four addons enabled" are about as helpful as "It gets dark at night." Link Loot PS: If Skyrim crashes before even reaching the menu, an incompatible skeleton is the cause in 99% of all cases. Edited February 7 by Andy14 2
