renthal721 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 What are your recommendations for a defeat mod for ostim standalone? I tried Osimpleassault and osimpledefeat, but they didn't really work the way I thought they would - could not kill defeated npcs, couldn't tie them up, they kept walking around sometimes, etc. The defeat part for the player didn't always work either. Just looking for something that works reliably and has features of the original sexlab defeat but doesn't take forever to load. Any and all suggestions appreciated! Thanks

Thanks There really isn't a good option at the moment sadly. That being said I have gotten both OSimpleAssault AND OSimpleDefeat working in a previous modlist I had configured... for me, the issue was available animations and OSimpleDefeat settings. To answer your specific question (in my limited experience) the only other option I can think of is to use SexlabToOstim mod. Now this mod actually DOES work pretty well and I have used it to play some of the quest type mods that have SL as a requirement.... but there are still issues. I have not tried SexlabToOstim with SL based defeat mods but I can imagine how some of the more popular ones would have issues (Practical Defeat Reanimations and Naked Defeat come to mind). The only other option is to run both OStim and SL and use SL for the defeat stuff. This is what I am currently trying to do with *some* success but again... multiple issues.
RunicGray Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Are you more concerned with when you defeat NPCs, or for when you as the player are defeated? For the latter, Mark of Arkay - Death Alternative has connections for both SexLab and OStim, so it will work for either. I initially used it when testing out OStim because of the lack of defeat mods, but I kept it when moving back over to SexLab. I've been using it instead of SL Defeat because of the loading issues you mentioned. But it's more geared towards your player defeat, not defeating NPCs and getting them to surrender. 1

Thanks for the heads up, haven't heard of SexlabToOstim before. Do you think it would work with something like the newer Yamete Kudasai? I used the older version with ostim but it was quite buggy, would like to try the new version but don't have sexlab installed. Gonna have to give it a try. When you got OSimpleDefeat and OSimpleAssault to work, were you able to kill npcs and tie them up? That's the issue I'm currently having in this current playthrough. Last playthrough the defeat function didn't work for me. Thanks

Last playthrough the defeat function didn't work for me. Thanks So I just tested with OSimpleAssault. First you have to make sure that Hunters Pride is turned on. It isnt by default. Without that nothing happens. Next you defeat your enemy. If hunters pride is enabled the enemies should be in a "defeated" pose instead of dead. Select "E" and the hunters pride menu comes up. Choose to assault. OStim scene should start. On the Hunters Pride menu there is also an option to "restrain" them but this did not seem to work for me. The one I tested more was OSimpleDefeat. The issue there was that you have to limit the mod to only choosing one gender to perform the assaults on you. The reason for this is that if you allow both genders to assault and you are in an area with multple assailants it will choose it will inevitably choose mmFF or mmFFF or some other combination. This causes the mod to not find an appropriate animation b/c there just ISNT a lot of 'orgie" animations etc at least for OStim. Once I limited that to only "males" can assault my female character it fired almost all the time. I just dont know if SL2OStim will work with YK. Its worth testing at least.
renthal721 Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Thanks for testing and replying back. I was able to get as far as you did with OSimpleAssault. The issue I have with the mod is that the option to restrain doesn't really work and you also the kill function does not work. I was able to get assault to work. With OSimpleDefeat, it just never started for me, for probably the same reasons you listed. I tried out SL2OStim and it worked with the newest version of Yamete Kudasai. It was just pretty slow to start, similar to the old SL defeat mod from back in the day. I'm guessing it has to do with the mod having to start SL and then switch to Ostim. What are your thoughts on the old ODefeat mod? I tried it awhile ago but for some reason stopped using it and I honestly can't remember why. Thanks

I was able to get the kill function working fine with latest version. Tested it with mulitple downed assailants and different saves. As long as Hunter's Pride menu is ON and they are in downed state, I can hit E on downed enemy and select from hunters pride menu. In my case... I have Practical Defeate Reanimated, YK.. AND OSimpleAssault installed. When I select the downed enemy I have TWO options for assault... One will start up an OStim scene and the other will startup a SLP+ scene depending on selection. I have tested both options and they both work. As far as the tie up animations... they dont work for me either. I select and enemy stands up... so I don't use that one at the moment (I havent spent anytime troulbleshooting that issue) I have never used ODefeat so can't help you there. SneakySausage1337 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 OSurrender is currently the only defeat style mod made specifically for Ostim SA. It's basically the surrender mod, but with the extension of allowing defeated NPCs to use Ostim to pay up. If you want to stick with just Ostim SA, this is probably your best option. However, it's not ideal. Here is the issue. Ostim SA is great, but it unfortunately lacks the aggressive/non-consensual animations that are common in SexLab. All of the converted animation packs you find on Nexus for Ostim SA (i.e. Billy's, Leito's, etc...) DO NOT include the aggressive non-consensual animations. Which means even if you could start a defeat mod in Ostim SA, it would be lacking in quality due to not having the supporting animations. Nexus doesn't allow these in their website. So its gonna be up to someone on here to post an Ostim SA animation pack that includes the non-consensual animations. Until then, Ostim SA just is not going to be good for Defeat The best approach I've found is, just to install both Ostim SA and SL. Let Ostim SA is better than SL for pretty much anything allowed on Nexus (ORomance Plus, NPC's approach, NPC lives, SLO Aroused NG, etc...). I would just install Simple Defeat (easy and it works) with SL and a couple of animations (FunnyBiz or Leito). This combination works great.
renthal721 Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 Thanks for the recommendation. I forgot where I found them, but someone converted some non-consensual animation packs for ostim sa. Unfortunately I'm running out of space in my load order for SL. I'll check out Osurrender, thanks!

There are packs available with aggressive animations for OStim. There is a bunch here and at least one I can think of for free on patreon. So it can be done with just OStim. I agree however that the better approach is to use both (which is what I am putting together at the moment).

I do know one person did post a few packs a year or so back, but I've been cautious due to some mixed reviews as to their quality. Yes, for the time you need SL to get all the content. Ostim could in theory replace SL, but its the amount of content that is far behind. It would require a concentrated effort by people on here to try and port/remake content for Ostim. Unfortunately, no one is really doing that full time. Edited February 11 by SneakySausage1337
