Oniki Kinky Mod Conflict Sims 3

Hey yall! Idk if its just me but whenever my sims smoke a joint, the interaction disappears but they're still actively smoking and no moodlet appears. Everything else in the mod works fine and they're able to buy weed and roll it. I created a new save file and I delete all of the cache files before entering my game. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled different versions of the mod LMAO at this point i just pretend they're high. it used to work when i first installed the mod and they're able to take other drugs just fine.

It can be frustrating when one posts and no one replies.

Trouble shooting with the Sims 3 is one of the easier 'Mod' based games one can do.

1st off: Information is always needed when asking for help which I assume this post is - not just sharing a day in your life.

What version of what mod in which version of the game? I use version OnikiKinkyMod.Build441.v082 of Kinky World in the 168 version of the Sims (Origin version is 169).

Since the game doesn't care about your mods/downloads as it builds the world based on a default setting (new game) or one of the saves, it's Very Easy to remove everything from the Mods folder except what you want to test.

Of course the easiest way would be to copy the folder and remove everything but the Necessary files needed for a mod folder to work, move or rename the Original mod folder, keeping ONLY Kinky World (I assume) in this new folder.

Launch a new game in the fastest loading world you have, enable and test. There's no reason it should NOT work at this point. Nothing to conflict with.

Because there are 1000 to the 12th power of mods for the Sims 3, there's no reason to post a mod list for us to dig through and act like we could tell at a glance where you may have conflicts(?). Having only the base mod installed would confirm your install and download are functioning properly.

There's the biggest clue if accurate - nothing just 'stops' working (unlike people) and either the file is corrupted which replacing it with an uncorrupted version would fix, or YOU have added something afterwards which has caused a conflict.

That's it - simple.

'Still smoking' IS the interaction. The object (joint) disappearing and no moodlet is a pretty good indicator that once it begins, something in your code is stopping that part while the animation plays out on it's timer.

Does your 'joint' count from inventory go down? Or does the game act like you never fired it up? A little help from you can help us do more than look at your post and move on . . . .

Still, I've given you the best troubleshooting advice you'll get. New Mod folder/only Kinky World - Test it.

IF it works which it should - YOU'LL have to go through you mods and add them till it breaks again - and then you'll know the conflict - OR - remove any mods you placed since the last time it worked properly.

You got a very nice return of information for the small post you made with little effort.  Soo Soo

Ok i took most of my mods out of my game and im about to reinstall the kinky mod. Yes the joint count goes down whenever they smoke and i do believe i had something interfering with the interaction. Thank you so much for the response! ❤️

I have the latest version of the mod i think its 44.1?

Ok so i did what you said and only had that mod in my mod and packages folder but the same thing happened. I even downloaded an older version of the mod, still no luck. There is a mod on ModTheSims that allows sims to smoke cigarettes and i downloaded that just to see if the smoking interaction itself was an issue and it worked just fine. My girlfriend also has the Kinky mod installed in her game and she's also having trouble with her sims smoking a joint, but she doesn't really care if her sims does drugs lol

I have no idea if this will help you or not, but I just tested it in my game, and it works. I have tons of mods installed, but for your purposes, I have KinkyMod, build 442 v83, and also I have Olomaya's smoking mod: https://olomaya.tumblr.com/post/727117424419274752/smoking-mild-teenage-delinquency. This mod replaces the smoking mod found on MTS, but I have previously used the MTS one, as well as a different version of that which I found here on LoversLab, and both of those worked with KW and cannabis. I do not know if a smoking mod is required, but I think I've always had both that and KW installed together.
