Kpnut Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I've been trying to fix some things with the companion version of my character Cris, mainly the fact she's freakishly tall (she should only be a few centimeters taller than Willow) and rather than saying "Cris has gone to the lucky 38" it says "Marina has gone to the lucky 38" I know the second problem has something to do with the fact Marina was used as a base for Cris. Neither problem is that bad but they annoy me a lot and the second one is the reason the mod is only available on my site. For the height problem I was wondering if adjusting her height in the GECK would work but I'm afraid of fucking something up if I do tinker with the height.
Guest Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 You must modify these IDs that still have Marina as name: raynor009MessageLeave, raynor009MessageLeaveL38 and raynor009MessagePerkRemoved For the height thing, I don't know if it could create issues. I used scaled NPCs and I never had downsides.
Kpnut Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks for the help. Just tried changing her height in the GECK, no change she's still really tall.
Guest Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I suppose you are changing Height under Stats? I mean I used to scale NPC references inside the rendering window, not their baseID. It should work, just like when you setscale ingame EDIT: downside on animations, of course. But this isn't an issue until Cris tries to kiss someone taller than her, kissing his neck. Excluding that, I really doubt you could have issues in scaling her. Excluding some external mod interfering with her scale (why...)
Victoria K. Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Yes, A.J. is absolutely right, do what she said, find the reference and edit from there, the change will be effective and will work fine, except for the little cases she mentioned already.
Guest Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I was missing your "Likes", where did you disappear! *laughs*
Victoria K. Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Keep giving useful advice to users and gave us some more "kiss" or "hug" animations and you'll get hella lot from me! Rest assured.

Cris tends to be either the same size or slightly taller than most male characters (I usually use setscale 1.01 in the console when dealing with the height issue.) so that shouldn't really be a problem. thanks for the help
Guest carywinton Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Size can be set by either the character it is based on if using "template data" in "Actor Base" or by "race". You can change the height and weight in the "Traits" tab and this will sometimes hold, but if it does not, then it is due to the actor base template data or race. Try changing the size in one of those. I hope this helps. Kind Regards, CaryWinton
Halstrom Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 From memory, the SetScale function doesn't set the scale of the actor, it adjusts the scale set in the actors template so if the Actor template is set at .8 then SetScale .5 will actually give you an actor .4 in size.

It doesn't really matter any more, she's the right height now.
Guest carywinton Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Well that's great, all is well that ends well, I say. @ Halstrom, I had forgotten about those two setting being directly in relationship to each other, good point.
