Balmung889 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Hi, I don't speak English. I communicate with translators. I'm not very good at creating characters, so I download presets, but they often don't work. I have 2 questions: 1) How do I properly use downloaded presets? Often, even after downloading all the preset requirements, the face isn't the same. If you know of a good tutorial that properly explains what to do beyond meeting the mod's requirements, please don't hesitate to let me know. 2) The previous problem is a classic for those (like me) who aren't familiar with racemenus and presets. I too have found myself with faces that aren't exactly similar or are completely deformed. This time I'm having a different problem. The faces don't change. The preset loads the hair and skin tones, but the face remains the default one.
Dorabella Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) Please note that some differences are determined by skin tone and the ENB in use. If use HPH (High Poly Head) Open Racemenu , navigate to head and select HPH 3 or 4 Spoiler Preset , F9 import Json (read green requiremnts, race 00KLH_FemaleHead) Sculpture Key F9 import sculpture Spoiler Spoiler ⚠️ If you use HPH SMP, do not export the sculpture. Export only JSON (presets) Edited January 11 by Dorabella

When using presets from other creators, it's important to know: - which race - which weight - and which slot (default preset slot) - and which mod (Racemenu, ECE, etc.) was used to create the preset. Also, whether high-poly meshes were used and, of course, which additional mods for eyebrows, eyes, hairstyles, makeup, etc., were used. In a good mod, this information should be included in the description.

Balmung889 Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 I'm modding AE. I'm NOT using High Poly Head. It seems to be very popular, right? I've never used it on Skyrim (2011) or SSE. No particular reason, I just preferred simpler stuff, and I've always had problems anyway. Guys. I'll tell you what I understand, and then we'll work on everything else, okay? - I know I have to make sure the preset is for racemenu or ece. - I know the character has to be the same race as the preset. - I know that to get the same result I have to download exactly the same mods. Same body skin, same hair mod, same eye mod... Often, even if I make sure all of this is correct, the results are different. If it goes badly, a deformed monster comes out; if it goes well, the results aren't exactly the same. Sometimes everything worked fine, but then I realized I didn't like the face as it initially looked, and I downloaded another one. I've currently downloaded the Fair Skin Complex body, KS Hairdos for the hair, and am using racemenu. I downloaded these presets from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/72494?tab=description Which only requires those three mods (excluding ECE). I specifically chose simple presets, without too many requirements, just to see if I could get them to work properly. I installed via MO2 (which I'm using for the first time, rather than Vortex). I did as you said, first loading the preset (F9), then the sculpt (F5), selecting the same preset. Here are the results: Compare with the mod I posted... Last 4 photos Here are the results: The eyes are different. The faces look almost childlike compared to the originals. I don't know if it's just the eyes that don't match or if there's something else going on.
BDNelson Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Damn! Those are some really nice presets! I use high poly, wouldn't think of not using myself. This is my girl, Blaze, she uses a preset to make her and then saved it to her name. I can pop it up in the blink of an eye, really handy for all the restarts I do.

Yes, they look child-like. That's what fair skin combined with HHaley's presets gets you. The reason you're seeing different eyes is that you only have the head set as editable, so anything else in the head mesh you're trying to import (eyes, brows, mouth, etc.) won't be imported to your character. You must check all the boxes in the third column to import them from the .nif you're using.

I didn't realize this when I created the thread. I don't think we regular users can move the discussions we've created. Sure you can. Click on the 3 dots in the upper right corner of your first post and select "Report," then choose "Wrong Category/Move Request." If the author of a thread requests that it be moved to a more appropriate forum the moderators will assist. Edited January 16 by Kastagir
