SL Animations not loading.

Almost certainly due to a FNIS issue and/or a ALAL issue;

1) FNIS: First the FNIS .exe was already an executable and SO the instructions I found that say to right click on it, IN ORDER TO enable it to be an executable and then rename FNIS SE, it were meaningless.
And when I do run FNIS, I get all sorts of warnings that I am not on a proper skyrim installation from Steam.

But I am.

Also I got a lot of warnings about too many animations installed so I switched to the FNIS XXL main file but I still got the Warnign aboUT "no Steam skyrim on this machine".

Even though the "too many anims" warnings stopped stopped with the FNIS XXL introduction.

2) SEXlab animation Loader SSE.

I get an error message:  "SLA_plugin.dll  A LE plug in cannot be used with SE"

But I downloaded a mod that even had SSE in its name.

All dependencies including JContainers are also active.

Result. When I try to start the game My character floats stiffly (t bone pose)

Ironically on my first game start my character properly walked but just stood there at the same spot the "sex partner" stood. Otherwise noises, speech and movement of player and NPCs was nomal and natural.

I trouble shot it by making sure all animations were enabled in the MCM, ironically after that things got worse. ... and now the PC does not even properly walk but just floats stiffly and unmovingly across the ground.

As do the NPCs ( well they just stand stiffly arms out and frozen.

I tried a different version of JC containers a unistall reinstall of SLAL and the like but I sitll get "SLA_plugin.dll A LE plug in cannot be used with SE"

https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/5328-sexlab-animation-loader-sse/

Also I have no files on my system that are LE ( as far as I know).

have no idea what this SLA plug in is or where it came from.

Maybe i was happy too early.

There has been some imrpovement like my inventory shows up now.

BUt i still float stiff tposing over the ground and the NPCs dont move and no animations start :(

I still kept getting error message about the pesky SLA_plugin.dll  as being for LE only.

(I checked in properties it was the SALAL file from earlier today even though I had removed that SALAL with a not just disable, not just uninstall but with the remove command in vortex.)

So I hand deleted it hoping that whatever the new SLAL puts in is better.

In any event sitll have issues

No animations and my character just floats around.

PS: SLA_plugin.dll appears to reinstall itself.

By the timestam its the one from the latest version not the earlier version I installed more recently.

Anyone know how to stop this?

I delted the parent mod SL vs 2.2.6 in all ways I know how.

If you have been using FNIS until now, you also need to delete the FNIS output folder, check the overwrite folder. As Car34F said, use Pandora and only Pandora, not FNIS or Nemesis. Once you got rid of the FNIS remnants, rerun Pandora.

1) Please excuse my ignorance but where can I find those folders? (I have default steam installation locations)

2) what about that .dll file that keeps showing up?

I disabled the mod that was its source, then uninstalled it, (via vortex0 then "removed" it also via vortex and also hand delted its folders in the game folder.

And then installed the same mod with an earlier markl of the same file.

Yet the plug in SLA_plugin.dll keeps showing up (and i checked by its install date its the dll from the SLAL 2.2.6 not the 1.6 another helpful member linked)

Grateful for any and all help :)

Assuming you ran FNIS through (MO2), it should end up in the overwrite folder.  data\meshes\actors\character\behavior ,if I recall correctly.

Since you are using Vortex, I have no idea. You have to google it, search for FNIS in the folders, and delete that stuff.

The error message indicates that you are using an LE version of the mod. Use the version linked above, delete that other version.

Besides didn't we already have a discussion on Vortex or was that someone else? I would highly, I repeat, highly recommend to switch to MO2.

Vortex is unreliable, slow, doesn't give you full control over your load order, thus you will have issues with larger load orders you wouldn't have in MO2.

to delete the fnis folders, go to the folder where you installed skyrim open the data folder at the top right in the "search in data" field type FNIS and wait if it finds something delete

uninstall OSL and install SLO

thank you for the quick response.

But what do you mean by OSL? 😌

And should I uninstall SLAL too it seems like SLO picks up that function?

What about Pandora should I keep that?

:)

Welcome to Skyrim!

Sorry you are having issues, when worked out it is fun.

Are you on AE or SE?

Things here on Skyrim are more complex than F4, each have there own ideas on what should be used as far as mods go... careful just hastily deleting/installing mods as they can cause issues all on their own if all files are not removed.

PM me if you would like to talk further about it.

Thank you.

You have all been wonderful! :)

I am on Skyrim SE. game version 1.6.1170.0

So I read the game version is like AE except for no CC content.

And when I downloaded my various mods I picked the versions for "SE" usually, unless it stated by numbers the game version numbers then I picked 1.6.1170

So there could be an issue there too.

I learned so much about computers in the last 3 years, since i started Fallout 4 playing and modding.

I actually know what a framework is, what RAM is now etc.

So I was confident, I could easily and quickly build a wild playthrough for Skyrim taking care of all the requirements etc.

Plus I have a very strong computer now compared to before and it should be able to handle a lot.

(Amd 7800X3D, 64GB RAM, Samsung 990 PRO SSD, Nvidia 4070 with the "ti"

My nephew has been upgrading it with his spare left over parts for me a little bit, every year.

When I started playing fallout 4 I didnt even know what a graphics cars was. And the one I had was a Nvidia 760ti)

But I guess as they say, nothing truly worthwhile is never easy ☺️

That version is AE.... some SE mods will work some will not.

Did you follow a guide such as this??

Bethesda got what they wanted, to muddy the waters installing mods so you will go do micro transactions with them.

I am still on SE 1.5.97.

EDIT Am reading that guide right now.

Please excuse my less than enthusiastic comments below.

They simple reflect a frustration

Thank you for the link I am grateful. :)

I mostly read the threads here on LL and used my experience with FO4.

Those guides always seem to list 50000 mods  as "the mods" to have.

For example I read there :

"My goal was to freshen Tamriel up a bit. Most cities, towns and villages have gotten a new design, the roads got new lanterns, and even a few new dungeons can now be found. Some spots get rebuild over time as new occupants move in. Another thing are relicts of the past. Shrines of Snowelves can be found, same as the remains of the anchors of Molag Baal (when he tried to invade Tamriel) and all daedric princes have new shrines hidden away. "

None of these things are my goal though.🤔

When I hope for, is a basic list of maybe 20 mods to have Sexlab working proper and then I'll add my own favorites from loverslab for the "social" quests.

In Fallout 4 we have a succinct page focused on just getting AAF working with its animations ( AAF= "Sexlab equivalent" ).

Is there  aguide like that for Skyrim?☺️

There is no fucking manual per se, Skyrim has far more mods and diversity.

This is the closest to it and does only cover SL stuff (and only lists the most popular mods), just don't download and install everything blindly. For Ostim you need to look on its nexus page.
