Caiena Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 (edited) I would like to propose an idea for a mod to the respected Skyrim modding community. Everyone knows that there are many mods that include sex. There are quest mods and dialogue mods where conversations revolve around sex or lead to it. However, if you look closely, I personally cannot recall a single mod where sex is meaningfully connected to sleep. What I mean is that most sex mechanics do not provide any continuation or follow-up. This might be acceptable for prostitution-related content, but it feels like a missed opportunity when it comes to relationships between lovers, spouses, or long-term partners. I might say something silly now, so please don’t judge me too harshly right away — but maybe it’s time to bring back the black screen instead of always showing sex scenes? For example: A husband says to his wife, “Let’s go to bed.” They approach the bed, and at some point a menu appears with several options, such as: Sleep together Sex + Sleep together Sex + Sleep together + Morning sex There could be many variations. After choosing an option, the game proceeds similarly to vanilla sleep: the player selects the sleep duration, and the characters fall asleep. The core idea of this mechanic is to add greater ambivalence and depth to gameplay. Firstly, dialogue between the player character and NPCs could meaningfully reference sleeping together. This wouldn’t just be empty talk — it would be a concrete, mechanically supported interaction. Secondly, it could genuinely diversify both family relationships and romantic relationships. It could also allow for one-night encounters — in taverns, during travel, near campfires, in dungeons… anywhere. As an additional layer, it would be great if the game tracked the player’s choices: sex could be recorded in statistics, relationship ratings between the player and NPCs could change accordingly, and other similar systems could be affected. That’s the idea. Perhaps someone here might find it interesting and decide to bring it to life. Edited December 17, 2025 by Caiena
maihfc Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Maybe not exactly what you have in mind, but this made me think, it would be nice to pick a partner through dialog and *literally* go to bed with them. Depending on relationship rank, arousal, fatigue, etc. you might have sex immediately and then go to sleep (maybe partner stays in bed the whole night, maybe not) or maybe you both fall asleep immediately (and if you have those bed cuddling mods, snuggle up) and -- again, depending on relationship rank, arousal, fatigue -- have sex in the morning. Personally, I don't want to black-screen the sex scene, but I suppose there could be a Puritan Playthrough option if that's your thing. I think this would be a fun mod to have and to make. I'd give it a go if I didn't have some non-Skyrim-modding commitments taking my free time right now. And as soon as I get back to modding, I already got a mod a few people are expecting me to update If somebody builds something or if you find something, please post back here. I'm still playing and I'd love to see something like this.

I think you would agree that there are countless ways to trigger all kinds of sex scenes in Skyrim, but not a single proper way to connect sex with sleep. That is exactly why the idea of using the vanilla sleep mechanic came to my mind. From my point of view, this is the simplest and most elegant way to implement a sex + sleep interaction. From a gameplay perspective, it would create a complete illusion that the player character actually slept with their partner, rather than just had sex and walked away. Of course, this is only my personal opinion. I do not have the skills to create a mod of this complexity myself, and I honestly do not know which technical approach would be the easiest or most practical to implement. However, I do have a good imagination — so I tend to let ideas flow freely. 🙂 2
