Start anew or let it rest?

Not necessarily a request for help, more of a sigh into the collective space.  I've been itching to start a new playthrough for a few months now, but my mod set-up is, in a word, completely fucked.  I've been trying to fix it when I can summon the motivation to, but I feel like I'm caught between the yearning to play and the malaise of modding burnout.

I think I might have to delete everything, un-install, and start from nothing again if a real solution doesn't present itself.  Sex animations don't want to work, and I cannot figure out why.  I've already deleted all but the most essential mods for running them, but something just isn't clicking.  It might be Pandora's fault?? I have no idea.  But now I'm wondering what other people do when they feel this burnout.  Do you guys let it go or keep on pushing?

It really depends on how horny I am at that moment.

God that's so true.  And I AM horny.  But right now looking at the Pandora window kills my boner immediately 😔

I had a nice working LO for 1164 until my laptop got borked during software upgrade. When I eventually got things I had to update to 1170 so I bit the bullet and followed these guides (I'm sure you've seen them before but just thought I'd reference them)

Skyrim AE for Beginners - V 3.1.0 - Skyrim: Special Edition - LoversLab

(v1.5.1) Mod Organizer 2 & Other tools - From zero to "Hey Sexlab is working!" - Skyrim: Special Edition - LoversLab

I've also moved over to Pandora and found it to be fast and painless, no more stopping for a coffee while FNIS grinds away....

I'd nuke it, delete all the mods, clean my PC, wait a few days playing something else. Then on a good evening when i'm jolly, grab a beer or some nice coffee, watch a few videos about modding and I'm instantly back in the absolute hype that only modding can give in modding.

Nothing is lost anyway, and you'll see when you make everything from scratch over again that you're not actually starting from scratch, the learning curve is steep asf but you've climbed it a bit.
