[RPGM Maker] Resident Within

Hello everyone!

 

I’d like to introduce you to a little game, my very first one!
I had started working on another project before, but I decided to reboot it into this one instead.
 

My goal is to make a game that feels a bit like Ren’Py, but with the exploration aspect of RPG Maker.
I’m not using the traditional RPG Maker combat system, nor maze-like dungeons, and definitely no excessive grinding.

The game takes place in the Resident Evil universe, it’s a kind of fan fiction.

It’s quite violent and adult-oriented, sometimes dark, but the tone can also be lighthearted or even funny at moments.
 

This is just the beginning, I’m not particularly skilled in RPG Maker or 3D yet, but I’m learning and gaining experience as I go.

I was just stopping by to check things out. Well, I was disappointed to see that no one had left a single comment. I figured I must not be getting any visibility and that there’s no point in posting or updating the game here. And then I saw:
1 like.
So of course, I thanked that person, and I thought to myself, well, at least one person has played it.
So, thanks to him, I’d like to offer you patch 1.8.
While I’m at it, I’d like to let you know that I’ll be gradually removing the RPG Maker maps and replacing them with point-and-click ones.
If you experience lag in the hospital section, know that this will be the first thing I fix.

Well we can't have that.

 

I gave it a quick try. I should start by saying that I'm not really one for VNs, and this is all a bit more linear than I like. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I do have a bias here.

 

That aside:

• I love the renders and most of the scenes are done well.
• I'm not sure about the "hold escape to skip" being the mechanism to advance a scene though. I hold it too short a time and nothing happens; too long and I end up skipping the next couple of dialogue exchanges after it ends.
• I felt a little swamped by the number of narrative threads, Lots of NPCs and I found myself losing track of who was who. The codex (whatever it's called) would help here, but of course it's not available in dialogue, which is by far the most of the game time.
• The biggest flaw from my POV though ... I'm not a fan of futa, at all. I rather noped out at the upskirt view. 

All told, a decent effort. Not for me, but for those who like that sort of thing, I'm sure they'll have a good time. Just think about another way to skip animations in scenes, and making the codex available in dialogue. Those would be my suggestions.

ok this  game is right up my street ticks all the boxes for me I  want to see more creatures involced in sex/rape/impregation with all the characters etc

yes the hold to skip is dodgy at best and nope not a fan of futa myself but it does fit in the story,  the animations are quite enjoyable  i think the animations could use a next instead of hold to skip or even start to finish in one go. all i can say is keep up the good work and i can't wait for the next update
