jfraser Posted October 4, 2025 Posted October 4, 2025 (edited) View File College Days Winterhold Remade College Days: Winterhold is back for SE/AE! Completely redone from scratch. Ever wondered how you could be Archmage of the most prestigious school for magic on Nirn without actually knowing much magic? Probably not because you probably already have mods that fix that. Well, now you can have another! Features (and how they differ from the original CDW): - Faralda will now direct you to your advisor, Ryner Morrem, who will gaze upon you with disgust and give you a magical scan to see if you are really college material. - Choose whether to pay ever more exorbitant fees for your studies or not (a much-requested option in CDW). - Choose a school of magic in which to major. Don't worry, you can request a change to a different school from Professor Morrem at any time (for a fee, if enabled) - Professor Morrem spends most of the time in the Arcaneum being grumpy alongside Urag. They get along well! If he is not there, he may be at the tavern in Winterhold or sleeping in his bed in the teachers' dormitory. - Another student, Kelwe Dans, also spends her time in the Arcaneum but she has decided she wants to go home, so she is selling her books to finance the journey. See her for spell tomes. - Just like before, parts of the college questline will only be accessible after you have been reassessed and granted the next level. The timing of these has changed - it made no sense for the professors to demand you get better before you could help with the pressing issues that happen once you have been to Labyrinthian, so now you will need to advance to level 90 in at least one school (and be reassessed by Professor Morrem) before you can start the last portions of the questline. This chops the early portions of the questline up a little more than before, so the spacing of your leveling and the questline is not as even throughout but makes much more sense, storywise. Compatibility Should be compatible with anything that doesn't directly edit the dialogue of the College questline. Let me know if something doesn't work! Partially voiced (and soon to be fully voiced)! Faralda's and Mirabelle's new lines are done by Alice Irvin. Casting Call Club : Casting Call Club Ryner Morrem's lines are being worked on. I have added a few at the beginning from one prospect - please let me know what you think. Alas, the two I used last time are unavailable to reprise this one and the lines have changed significantly enough that I was unable to reuse the old ones. Chlodwig Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 is it save to replace the old version with this one mid game? 1
Garfieldcat Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Imagine my surprise when I kept reading and reading and was truly amazed that at no point in the description was any mention of: then he gags you to prevent you from gulping down mana potions so you better understand nature of magicka and how to control it Or he gifts you a collar after graduation that keeps your mana at 50% or something lol Jokes aside this sounds great and I often end up playing as a caster in Skyrim! Will definitely add it to my playthrough Thank you! 1

They are two completely different mods, so no, because it is never really safe to add new mods mid-playthrough. If you do, however, you will have to start the quest all over again but it should go pretty quick since you will be able to get reassesed over and over until you have reached where your spell level is. 3 hours ago, Garfieldcat said: Imagine my surprise when I kept reading and reading and was truly amazed that at no point in the description was any mention of: then he gags you to prevent you from gulping down mana potions so you better understand nature of magicka and how to control it Or he gifts you a collar after graduation that keeps your mana at 50% or something lol Jokes aside this sounds great and I often end up playing as a caster in Skyrim! I cross-posted it here because I know some people do not like Nexus. 1
Blinder Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 It's awesome you are working on this amazing mod again! Just wanted to say that I found some errors with "Quest Alias not found" in MG01 Quest when opened in SSEdit, if you want to check them out: Spoiler
Echi Corsair Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Wait, so this mod doesn't feature chances for sex?!?

plutocene Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Do you know if this is compatible with college of winterhold quest expansion? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/66666

belegost Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I think I played the original long time ago... I seem to recall some sort of grumpy professor, who you needed to do "favours" for, and I kinda liked the idea, but I might be mixing up two different mods. Anyway, how would it fare compatibility-wise with AYOP? 1

I suspect it will be okay as long as this one is lower in the load order, but there probably will be some funkiness
jfraser Posted October 7, 2025 Author Posted October 7, 2025 Unfortunately, I could not get a hold of either of the people who did the voice of the advisor last time. I am testing out different voice actors. The first few lines are voiced by one of them.Let me know what you think 1
belegost Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 (edited) It has been bugging me ever since I posted last time, but I think I know why now. I think I mixed up this one with Sleep for Credit. Maybe I had both installed at the same time at some point? Can't remember, there's been a lot of mods I tried and tested over the past several years. Edited October 8, 2025 by belegost 1

Can't remember, there's been a lot of mods I tried and tested over the past several years. The original College Days did have Sleep for Credit embedded in it, so that is probably what you are remembering. I separated them because I did not want to have to update two versions of college days every time and because CDW was briefly considered for inclusion in STEP but they were leery of including a LL-connected mod. That said, sleeping with the advisor himself was never part of it Edited October 8, 2025 by jfraser 1
LordDarSteel Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I remember this fondly. Thank you for bringing it back! 1
