Aelie Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 So i found this awesome looking armor, but theres one problem thats just bugging the hell out of me: theres this skirt like plate hanging down the front, but it is attached to the left thigh, so when the character walks or isnt standing straight, it has very awkward movement. http://i.imgur.com/cHgfjZo.png http://i.imgur.com/b2LsSCX.png http://i.imgur.com/4M972y5.png http://i.imgur.com/YgK0DSP.png my request is then this: i tried moving it to a different bone myself(npc spine instead of npc thigh L) but it didnt have the desired effect: http://i.imgur.com/FZ2ioKc.png I figured i could probably rotate it to make it line up but i dont think it would give me what i want either. could some modeler take a look for me and either: tell me what is required to make this animate better, or, time permitting, make the change? myuhinny Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Well if you wanted to you could also right click that piece since it's not connected to anything else and right click it go to block then select remove branch then save as and repeat for for 2nd nif as if you do anything to one nif you have to do to the other one as well. It actually doesn't look that bad without the piece and there is nothing ugly underneath of it that it was trying to hide.
Aelie Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 oh, i know, i did that and it looked fine, but if i could get that piece to work nicely, i'd like to keep it (it might even look good duplicated and placed on the same spot in the back too)
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 looks like the one that made it messed up the weighting a little bit. you cant do that in nifskope. you would have to export the nif, and work on it in blender or 3dsmax. which means the usual armor crap, skinning (attaching to bones) and weighting them again right. you could also try to correct the weight instead of doing it from scratch, but thats quite a tricky thing to do. sorry i cant help out, exams soon, and the only armor i work on for now is a thalmor-elven-version. for someone that knows what he / she is doing id say something between 1 - 3 hours max, highly depending on routine of that person.
Aelie Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 thanks for your help! if anyone feels up to it i would be very greatful/would be willing to repay however i can, let me know
