Beasstmaster Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 Recently I have experienced several crashes when exiting the in game character editor, which results in several of my saves being corrupted and even loading to an earlier save which may make the game playable for a bit, but I can't seem to be able to save it. Even when i try to create a completely new safe file. Now through my research or rather one or two google searches I happened upon many a people having similiar problems with save game corruption. Though not quite the same as the crashes I experience. Thinking back I come to the conclusion of the problem being one of these: 1. Sims 4 is just broken beyond belief and every new content update is just a cash grab as the game just becomes more and more broken. Or is amassing several new bugs to old as of yet undebugged bug list. 2. Something to do with the new occults as the crashes at least a few have happend when I wanted to get back into the game after editing an occult npc sim. Mainly, fairy and alien sims. 3. A skin issue with Slephora and or One of these days's skins? 4. Some sort of background check going on with some of the new features added prior to the last major expansion and within the launch of the last expansion. Which results in weird glitches/crashes when exiting the in game/safe character editor. My Question: Anyone experience those sorts of crashes as well? Why Post this topic? Frustrations needed to be aired out.

If Fairy form skins don't match with their Human form skins it can cause the game to crash, (EA BUG). Beware of using any 'default skins'. Skin Overlays are safer but you have to add them in CAS for each Sim. But you normally are editing new Sims anyway to edit their likes/dislikes, clothing, makeup, hairstyles, etc. I never save my game in CAS, build mode, or the world map. Always exit to your played household and then save your game. Been playing the same save for like 2 years and I add/edit sims on the fly all the time.
