I get that, but at least now there will be options so that when I see a new female mod there'll now be two additional slots to work with and just having those additional slots will make it more likely that it won't be locked to Miku and honestly will probably allow more attention to modders themselves since they'll have those additional slots to work with alongside Miku for the free character slot.

I'd guess Ulala is a very likely since she's about the only missing Rider's roster character. The other two I'd wager a Virtua Fighter character given the announcement and the third I don't have a guess.
With Y2 confirmed, you think there'll be more free characters too?

I and a lot of other people would love if people started putting female characters over male humanoid ones. Even if the animations don't match; which can easily be remedied because modders know how to replace animations now.

 

The main problem with all the mods going over Miku is...you only get one slot to choose from. It's really unfortunate for people who already have an amazing mod over a character, and especially for modders who poured their time into making the mod only for people to not be able to use it alongside their other mods.

Funny enough, there is one guy on Nexus that did that for 2 of the Senran Kagura girls. One over Ichiban and the other over Joker.
The animation thing really is a funny one cause the animation replacer option has been an option for a good...6 months now? Maybe its just harder to do, but its also an option so as to add more visibly to mods to not get passed cause its on the only character that is the easiest to do. If its the difficulty in making the mod that is causing it not to happen, then we already have our answer as to why we don't see it more often.

I guess many modders use Miku because she is easier to work with. Some modders can use her skeleton and replace animations over another character. That would be a lot harder to work on. Not every modder knows how to do that. If somebody makes a skin selector mod or a mod that adds extra slots. That would be cool.

This specifically would eliminate the problem entirely. It's probably a matter of time for when it becomes possible, and maybe one of the future updates will introduc changes that help make it possible. Hopium engaged!

Unfortunately a mod like that would likely be incompatible with online at best, and get you permanently banned from online at worst. Which is a big hurdle.

I would love to be able to have dlc rivals in general, that'd b so much fun! But that'd also mean a BUNCH more voicelines that'd need to be made ;w;

God, i want to mod SA2 so badly but cannot because modding on me deck is hard, and its nigh-impossible on my steam deck
