Guest Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hey guys. So I'm pretty new to skyrim modding and as such I have a few questions. Possibly stupid ones, but questions nonetheless. Here's one: Since a lot of Skyrim's data is stored in .bsa's (such as textures and meshes etc), should I find a way to extract the data into normal folders and replace the bsa files? Is it worth it? Thanks in advance.
myuhinny Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Only extract what you need out of a BSA for modifying and what not there is no reason to extract it all and you can end up screwing yourself if the BSA's that you replaced with the extracted files as now they are more prone to getting overwritten by other mods. Oblivion Fallout NV Skyrim all I have ever extracted from their BSA's were the files I needed and nothing more. You can extract stuff from the BSA's with something like FOMM's bsa extractor.
