BearyBry Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 With the new EP only around a week away I'm curious what others are thinking about it and if you plan on getting it at launch or maybe wait a little? For me personally I'm humming and hawing about it. Other than Lovestruck I have all the other EPs (I'm still not impressed with how little Lovestruck adds to the game, as well as how much it screws up relationships), and after watching a few BB reviews and early access gameplay there does seem to be quite a lot they've added with this pack, whilst the thought of what modders will do with Fairies is a plus, though the build style isn't quite my cup of tea (cannot landscape to save myself), I'm not really sure it's a pack I must have now or if I should maybe wait a little longer and get it in a sale.
travelmedic Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 If you want Fairies, find the "Fairies vs. Witches" mod by Spinning Plumbobs that is free on his Patreon. It includes fairies, spells, I think there's potions/alchemy in it, lots of stuff. And like I said, it's free. HERE Potions and elixirs are already in Realm of Magic and Outdoor Retreat. It seems like EA is just re-using/recycling old content, and/or stealing ideas from mod creators. Just like "Businesses and Hobbies" took ideas from the LittleMsSam mod "Live In Business." 1
SilentAegis Posted July 4, 2025 Posted July 4, 2025 (edited) As a sucker for occult stuff... eh. I only get packs if I have a fleshed out enough character idea that requires whatever is in the pack and that fits my story. I don't have any character ideas right now for Fairies and while living off the land appeals to me, I can already do that with Werewolves. I don't have any other characters except a Werewolf that would do that. I like the idea of being an apothecary, but again, I don't have an idea for it yet. So yeah, for me, definitely a sale whenever I actually want the pack and I've no clue when that'll be. As for how it looks? The Fairies look really cool and the world seems okay. But that's about it. Which for me, is another reason to just wait. $40 for EA's take on Fairies when I've already got Fairies vs Witches installed is hardly worth it. 3 hours ago, BearyBry said: I'm not really sure it's a pack I must have now or if I should maybe wait a little longer and get it in a sale. If there is doubt, there is no doubt, I always say. If I'm not 100% sure I want a pack full-price, then it's an automatic "wait for sale" for me. Which happens a lot, lol. randyroger Posted July 12, 2025 Posted July 12, 2025 OK, I pre-ordered the game. I've started using the new features and I like it. Looking forward to what the creators on this site do with it. There are possibilities. However I have to say Spinning Plumbobs' Fairies vs Witches mod looks better so far. I removed that mod before installing Enchanted, wanted to avoid conflicts. Checking his web site , Fairies vs Witches is compatible with Enchanted. I think I will reinstall and see how it goes 1
BearyBry Posted July 12, 2025 Author Posted July 12, 2025 @randyroger I'd be interested to hear how that goes, see if the two complement each other well.
Faolon Posted July 14, 2025 Posted July 14, 2025 So far, the only real issue I've got with the pack is that it feels like a Fairy's "Emotional Force" drains waaaay too quickly. You're basically an emotional vampire because you have to go out and find a sim to basically suck an emotion out of. The sims team accidentally created Colin Robinson. 1

I'm guessing a modder will soon come up with a fix for that before long, if it's not already available, lol

My hope is Turbodriver will let wohoo fulfill their emotional needs, thus allowing for a somewhat incubus/succubus-type gameplay with the failries. 1
randyroger Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 Spiningplumbob's Fairies vs Enchanted by Nature Looks like they are not compatible. some kind of UI overlap. Spiningplumbob has removed it from His site.

Spiningplumbob has removed it from His site. That's a shame though hardly surprising there are conflicts. I'm surprised he removed it, after all there will be a lot of people who won't be getting EBN and would prefer to keep using his mod, so a disclaimer about the conflict whould have been enough to warm players I would've thought, oh well. Looks like I'll be waiting for a sale then in order to play with hot buff fairies. Also has anyone also finished the nature event this week? It's such a damp squib, you're told to get the PlantSim stump then get two magic beans and then it just ends, they really need to make these events more engaging and actually worthwhile doing other than a few random objects, if that's all we get then just having them as log in rewards each week worked far better. Instead we get a time travel one where we don't actually travel in time and a nature one that doesn't really do anything beyond maxing handiness and gardening.

Sam In Max Posted August 17, 2025 Posted August 17, 2025 Spinning Plumbob has updated the Fairies vs Witches mod (and a lot of the other mods) to work with Enchanted by Nature now. Be sure to read the instructions, as there's a bit of complication involving wingsets, but nothing too weird. Looks pretty cool, though I've yet to play a save with both versions of fairies in it at the same time yet. 1
