gerra6 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Hi. I'm currently developing an number of modders resources, such as Mesh Rigger, Seam Mender, and an automated Clothing Converter. I need the ability to quickly and painlessly test modified nifs in game. Does anyone have any recommendations and advice for a good, easy, testing hall. I have a fresh Skyrim install (just downloaded it for the first time) and have no prior experience with Skyrim (although I've written and used mods for Oblivion and Fallout). Ideally, I'm looking for the quickest and most painless way to go from an unmodded new Skyrim to one where I have a testing hall that I can use to bugtest meshes. The easier and simpler the better. Right now, I have fairly limited time to develop these new tools, and every minute spent trying to figure out Skyrim is a minute I'm not coding/bugtesting. Thanks in advance.
h38fh2mf Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Why can't you just test it anywhere? But there is a test cell in skyrim "coc qasmoke" in console.
gerra6 Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Thanks for the help and advice. I ended up downloading Mod Organizer and installing SKSE, SkyUI, and finally madd haven http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34251/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D34251%26preview%3D&pUp=1 Since my tools can mass update an entire data directory at once, this lets test all of the clothing/armor options on one screen. Should help with the ongoing bug hunt.
