tolerance Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I currently have both retail and steam version of oblivion installed from an attempt to transfer over to the steam game, and now tesedit points to the steam version. So, I was wondering if I should un-install the steam version and re-install the retail version, or is there an easier way? also, what's the best way to save my files, can I simply add a "1" infront of my data and ini folders without fear of the un-installer will look for them? and then simply delete the new folders and remove the "1" from the old ones to get them to work right?
movomo Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Why bother steam when you have the retail version? I'd recommend to stay away from steam as far as you can. As to your second question, it's as simple as that. Just rename them to anything that is different from your registry. You can have indefinitely many snapshots as long as your disk allows.
tolerance Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 thank you, now I have a clean backup copy and all my stuff works again!
