DeepBlueFrog Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I am considering giving Requiem a go.... but I have so many tweaks in my load order, I don't want to start down the road of a nightmare if there are known issues with popular mods from LL. So.. any opinions about Requiem in general and how well it was with SexLab and the likes?
ratrace Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I just did a Requiem test about quite some time and it did work with SexLab without problems.
Carida Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I'm using it right now. Works pretty well with most things honestly.. not really having an issue. Yus use it with sexlab and everything else. And its fun Rather like it. Tho it does stick its fingers in a lot of things. But not in a bad way. And much can be toggled. So yea.. its all good! -C
fappalappa Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I played requiem with a few sexlab mods last week. Didn't have any problems but didn't like requiem very much so uninstalled it the other day.
Ashra XIII Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 One thing's for sure: With Requiem you'll definitely be getting more use out of your rape and slavery mods. it's difficulty really is brutal, and I didn't find it very fun myself because I basically had to cheat the AI in order to win fights against more than one enemy. I also think I had something messed up with OBIS at the time which was creating these superhuman bandits who were always coming out of the woodwork at me, so I take at least part of the blame on myself.
theskid Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I use requiem myself because I can't stand basic skyrim leveling. Works decent with sexlab mods, but if you are using quest altering ones (like solutions or murder, theft seduction) you will want to craft a merged patch in TES edit to merge the changes by hand. I highly recommend using the new deathproofing submit functions to prevent dying all the time;), though once you get a few levels it tends to work out alright. I have to admit that aside from Requiem and some Sexlab mods, I do not use many other script heavy mods, to prevent overload. Mods that I find work well are Drink, Eat ,Sleep, Bathe (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/29025/?) again you will need to craft your patch for the food and water to combine changes between the two mods. Live another life (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9557/?) works if loaded after requiem. Alternate Character System is also a great mod to use along with it, as long as none of the auto perk options are enabled (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/47191/?)
Sinnerman Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Hi, also using Requiem (+patches) and various LL mods on my current playthrough. Did not run in any conflicts so far. I use requiem myself because I can't stand basic skyrim leveling. You suggest to merge some mods. I never merged any mods by hand, but i guess i can figure out the required steps. But im not quiet sure how to start; respectively which mods i shoud merge into which mods. For example: i'm using both - solutions and murder, theft, seduction. Is the Idea to merge these two with the Requiem mod? And what about their dependency on the Sexlab-Framework? Some advice would be great.
theskid Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 It is not super difficult once you get the hang of it but it can be tedious if you have a lot of records to alter. Assuming you have a bit of knowldege of how tes edit works, to start you simply bring up tes edit and filter for conflicts. You then check the conflicts and it will show you where one mod overwrites the other's changes based on load order. As opposed to directly altering any mod. I copy the record I wish to keep as override into a new esp that tes edit will create for you and that will always be last in your load order (I always call mine mergedpatched, but it can be anything you want really). If I want to keep some changes from each mod, I then copy the part of the record I want to keep from one mod into the mergedpatched record. I have an example screenshot here, that shows how my merged patch includes changes from 3 mods, EEO, SexlabSolutions and Requiem for the NPC Nivenor.
Sinnerman Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Thank you, for your help. So far, I don't see any real conflicts: some stats differ, but this shouldn't be a real issue, right? But, i'm a bit confused about the strongbox keys added by "SL Theft and Seduction". Would it be enough to copy this entry: "_sltns_strongbox_key ""Strongbox Key"" [KEYM:05000D69]" and overwrite the existing entry from the Requiem mod: NULL - Null Reference [00000000]? TIA
theskid Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 That is exactly what I do yes. You may notice that it turns the locks back into leveled locks when you do this. If it does, then you just set it to the unleveled lock requiem sets for it, or leave it leveled, as you choose. Generally you will want to make sure all characters have the requiem stats and perks, to maintain the expected power level for that character in the mod.
hryh23k9823u Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I always liked Requiem more over SkyRe, it makes Skyrim more crude/raw and also giving it a total old school rpg atmosphere. I think it fits quite good with mods like SD by the way. The only thing that makes me using SkyRe now is Reproccer, however in both cases I never noticed problems with Sexlab mods (I played SD, not SD+ yet though). You suggest to merge some mods. I never merged any mods by hand, but i guess i can figure out the required steps. But im not quiet sure how to start; respectively which mods i shoud merge into which mods. Merging mods it's only recommended, I'd say, for armor/weapon mods and maybe mods that comes with several .esp (like compatibility patches?) and that using the 'merge plugin' script and not the default TES5Edit function. However, merging scripted mod, or simply mods that runs MCM menus, will break the MCM (ends with elements of each mods mixed and repeated, for example Frostfall with Sexlab pages and stuff like that, all broken).
theskid Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 That I agree with, the mods themselves should never be directly edited or spliced together. In this case we are looking at creating a patch esp that combines changes for records from two or more mods so that none get over written and you can have all the changes simultaneously. Wyre Bash can provide some similar functionality automated, but even then you generally still need to create a tes edit patch esp to catch all the stuff it misses, and I am not so familiar with it. I started modding with new vegas which doesn't really have much if any bash support and I make my patches by hand in tes edit for my games for the most part. Used properly it is a very powerful tool to maintain your games and to add things to requiem like keeping all the requiem food changes but also adding to those foods the effects given to them in your needs mods, so that you can use them together. Without having to go so far as to fire up the ck, all these things can be easily done in tes edit. Same idea with the sexlab type mods, if you want to run quest mods like solutions and murder, theft, seduction with overhauls like requiem, you may well need to do some patching or else you will get keys off victim's that can't be used to unlock anything, or a nivenor that doesn't respond properly as the solutions author intended. It can even be used to create some extra immersion, such as being able to add the amulet of dibella from radiant prostitution to outfits from diverse priests (for priests of dibella to have) or to the prostitute outfits from inconsequential npcs giving working prostitutes outside of those girls in wench clothes. Fun stuff for sure. Again all these changes should be done in a new esp, which you run at the bottom of the load order. Something messes up you can simply delete the changes from the patch itself or just nuke the patch esp completely.
