Kinky World brothel opening/closing times

I've never messed with the brothel aspect of KW before, but I decided I'd finally check it out. I purchased a club (The Brightmore from Bridgeport) and set that as the workplace in the brothel phone menu. One thing I'm not sure about is the opening/closing times in the menu when using a community lot that already has it's own opening/closing times. The Brightmore normally opens at 5 PM, and closes at 4 AM. Do I need to set the brothel's hours to match that? Or are the brothel's hours going to somehow override the normal open/close times of the lot?

I've always created brothels on my sims' home lots. I suspect that the opening times of the club will conflict with the times of the brothel, if they are different, but I don't know for certain. Try it out. Let us know what happens. Worst case, make sure you have a backup from before you created the brothel there if you decided to choose a different lot for the brothel.

 

Or, there are mods that change the opening closing times for community lots. You could get one that makes them open for 23 hours a day, and adjust your brothel times to fit within whatever hours are available.

Sadly the brothel hours did not override the normal hours for the lot. Leaving the brothel hours set for 24 hours didn't seem to cause any issues though as far as I could tell. I didn't see any residents being pushed there outside of the club's normal hours. I did see a lone taxi driver hanging around outside once while the club was closed. Not sure if he was pushed there by KW or what. I didn't attempt to schedule any employees for work there outside of the club's normal hours since sims can't route inside of closed community lot buildings anyway. Once I realized the extended brothel hours weren't having any sort of benefit I just went ahead and made it match the lots open/close hours.

 

One minor issue is the employee scheduler. The time slots are every 2 hours on the even numbered hours, but dance clubs open at 5 PM, so you can't perfectly align the employee start time with the open hour of the club. You'd have either set their start time to 4PM, which 1 hour before the club even opens, or 6 PM, 1 hour after the club has opened. It's not a big deal though. I'll probably end up adjusting the venue hours anyway at some point.

Thought I'd just remind everyone - you don't need to own a whorehouse.

 

You have to tell your employees where to work during scheduled hours - and you must choose from a list. You can affect that list by changing the lot status from town view (may need Edit World - I forget - I made my changes years ago) to accept a variety of KW activities.

 

So it's fine to just send your whores to work at any clubs or or locations. BE sure to edit those so the whore(s) have someplace to go. Changing gender specific restroom doors (helps with gloryhole toilet stalls). Adding a rug or other furniture recognized by KW 'out back by the dumpster', or backrooms (Port-a-Potty Mini Warehouse for example). 

 

The player must still pay a fee to the location for using it so by owning you simply avoid that fee. How many Sims must the Whore(s) service before breaking even on a public lot purchase?

 

Edit: Now there's another reason to build a strip club with the pole(s) Either or both, and the stage dancing sockets. A good place to send whores where customers can see naked dancers (if the player creates those outfits for the stage socket dancer outfits chosen during activity).

 

Be sure to make the dancers 'woohooless' to limit competition. Yep - to make KW 'work' it takes a considerable amount of tweaking to the unruly child it is.

I actually did try and assign the whores to other locations that I didn't own after closing down The Brightmore as a brothel. I closed it down because I wanted to keep the club as a place where my sim could hang out without other sims abruptly ending conversations or other interactions to go interact with the whores.

 

I tested over the span of about a sim week with various locations, and there was only one successful proposition during that timespan, so the whores weren't even earning enough to cover their wages. I think what happens is if you have an actual brothel lot then KW will actively push sims to it, and push sims to proposition the whores on the lot regardless of arousal. On non-brothel lots KW doesn't seem to push sims in this manner, and whether propositions are successful or not seems to be based on arousal instead. I saw plenty of messages suggesting that the whores were trying to solicit customers, but the potential customers always said they weren't interested. I'm guessing having them work outside of brothels probably works better if the global arousal setting is at it's default or higher, but I've severely reduced the value to try and keep things under control and not have sims just fucking 24/7.

 

I ended up just shutting the whole business down for now since I didn't want the whores working at the dance club, and they weren't earning enough outside of a brothel. I will probably just add a dedicated brothel lot to the world at some point.

I opened in my home too but the people i hire never comes to work. Visitor always says "where are the girls?" and do they have to be all girls? :D

I've had the best luck by hiring NPCs to work in my brothels. Basically, I opened up a brothel with just my sim as the madam, and when some female NPCs were pushed to visit, she first (successfully) propositioned them, and then got her relationship level up fairly high and then hired them to work. They would generally show up to work. I had an issue with the workers leaving during the middle of the shift, and then being pushed to come back to work, but generally I'd have enough workers to keep a steady cash flow.

 

I have not tried hiring males to be whores, but this one time .... 🤣. I had a male household member hired as the janitor. Suddenly, he autonomously went and propositioned a male client. Both of them were straight, but the client was horny and in the mood, I guess, because he accepted the proposition and they went and did the deed in one of the bedrooms.

When I had the brothel open in the club I noticed that "straight" female sims that were visiting the club would sometimes solicit the female whores, so it seems like the mod ignores gender preferences when pushing those interactions.
