Weird crash log - solved

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have a consistent CTD on opening the door to the Dragonsreach Porch.

Before I start the usual trudge through the mods, can I ask if anyone has seen a crash log entry like this?  I can't think what this might be in my load order.

Don't waste your time on this!

I've tracked it to my SMIM set up and I just need to nail the naughty mesh.

I'll put my results up whwn I find the culprit.

It's a nif in a bsa, but unfortunately neither the nif nor the bsa file names got caught in the stack. Gonna need a debugger if you want those. Fixing the issue should be relateively simple though. You have a bsa with vanilla (cedwards is a dev name) meshes that have been chewed up by NIF Optimizer, and one of these is broken. Disable the bsa and your problem goes away.

Thank you.

I reinstalled SMIM and the CTD has vanished.

I had packed the SMIM meshes into a BSA, and I guess something didn't make it through Cathedral's packing process and got broken.  I've encountered no other issues around the game from that packing process.

The replacement SMIM is unpacked.

Well, guess that wraps this up. Many thanks for your time and assistance, once again!
