weewooweew00 Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 update this for 4.0 and my life is yours (it crashes the game rn totally non-functional) 1
darkspleen Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 My guess is Lustful Void. Lithia has spoken about updating LV for 4.0. But like... its going to be a ton of work. Given all the changes with 4.0 I wouldn't be shocked if it took a month or more to get LV working with it. If you really can't play Stellaris without LV, my suggestion is either find another game to sink your time into for a few months or roll your stellaris back to the previous version. 1
Simplyoranges Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 kid you not, LV not working on 4.0 has got me into modding. I will say, Modding traits in this game is waaay easier than i thought (sadly im way to inexperienced to do the more script heavy things that LV does, nor do i really want to ngl). To those who need a little spice in your stellaris, id recommend yoinking some trait mod from the workshop and fucking around with the code. Trust me, you wont regerts it.
Simplyoranges Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 (edited) if it helps, the mod: "Some Overpowered Traits" (by: Hann3o), has Most of the modifiers for species traits, you will have to go into the game files for the more special modifiers, EX: work force, phenotype locking, ect. darkspleen Posted May 12, 2025 Posted May 12, 2025 Yea, modding for Stellaris is pretty easy. Its just a lot of work to keep it up to date. And when you have something like LV that touches on a lot of different parts of the game it can take a long time to get everything working again after a major update. If you are interested in modding, I'd highly recommend you check out the code of a mod you like and just see how they wrote their events or got their traits working. Its generally pretty straight forward.

Plus, I'll be real, I'd prolly build it for 3.14...

I love how Paradox is continually working on their grand strategy games and makes massive changes from time to time (really keeps the games alive IMO), but my god does that make modding for them a nightmare sometimes. lol Honestly though making a small LV addon isn't a bad idea if you want to dip your toe in. Or you could do something standalone that just won't step on LV's toes. Back when I first started MASSA, it was just a handful of anomaly based events, little more than an excuse to slap porn into the game. lol.
