Eldritch_Fearful Posted May 6, 2025 Posted May 6, 2025 Hello! I've tried many things, but I just can't seem to figure out how to get this working. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything multiple times, but I just keep getting stuck at this specific part of installation! I've seen that other people get OK on their screen beside the prerequisites? However I do not get that. Eldritch_Fearful Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 Just now, fluffyvault said: Make sure to read mod pages about specific versions to download. According to FNIS (line 2 about your Skyrim install directory), you have Skyrim SE 1.6.1170 (a.k.a AE/Anniversary Edition). Sexlab v1.63 is for Skyrim SE 1.5.97 (a.k.a SE/Special Edition). Above was pulled from the Sexlab page here. You need to delete Sexlab v1.63 (the version you have installed atm), and download Sexlab v1.66b instead. I'd double check you downloaded the right versions of mods as well, as they could potentially cause issues, if designed for a specific version of Skyrim. Thank you! I will try this. I was sure I downloaded the most up-to-date version '''
Eldritch_Fearful Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 I see no download for SE that's v1.66, and I did before try both versions of v1.66 that was provided (AE), but I'll try again ^^
Eldritch_Fearful Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 FNIS didn't change, but now I'm getting mixed information that AE is both SE yet not applicable for SE ???
Eldritch_Fearful Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 I figured out what was going on. I had been sure I had Address Library installed, but it turns out I didn't ❤️

SE and AE are just commercial terms to refer to different game content available. AE is officially listed as a paid DLC on Steam, it was also sold on GOG as a full package (game + DLC), it was also the name of the updates around november of 2021 when the DLC was released. If you want to be accurate and to save a lot of time, start referring to your game in terms of its version. This is the product version of your SkyrimSE.exe file (located wherever you have Steam or GOG install your games). That's the number you'll see all over the place. It's listed on the official SKSE site, on the Address Library page, on SL, Racemenu, and any other mod containing a DLL file made for a specific version of the game. Vortex, LOOT and other tools like to use those commercial names to try to simplify things, but in the end all it causes is more confusion because now users keep looking for their SE mods, because they' didn't upgrade or bought the AE version, and yet some mods are labelled as AE. Version number, that's all that matters when you're dealing with SKSE and SKSE plugins (DLL files in mods) compatibility. 1
