Animation not playing

Recommended Posts

I can't seem to have any animation play with sexlab/Estrus/ or naked defeat.....
Sexlab seems to register all of them, Pandora run without error, and if i read the logs naked defeat for example seems to find the animations or at least count how many it find to use but none play... I must have missed something obvious, is this an example of using the wrong version of pandora? :/
Can someone help me make some sense of this? ^^"

You got over 700 errors about missing scripts and properties, so that's not a good start.

Enable developer mode in SL's MCM, start an animation, then check the Papyrus log again.

Yeah i saw that i had a lot of errors, i was pretty confident in following the installation process for all my mods but i must have fumbled somewhere ..

Here's the new log with the developper mod enabled  and a quick test with estrus

Mainly it looks to me like the game can't find the necessary scripts ? Am i interpreting this correctly?

The only attempt to start a scene in that log stopped because the script starting the scene tried to add an actor twice:

Quote

Failed to add actor -- They have been already added to this thread

So either:

  1. You got a stuck/dirty thread, which shouldn't really happen but considering all the errors going on here its perhaps not unthinkable. There's a button to clean stuff in the SL MCM, this will reset threads.
  2. The mod starting the scene has a bug in it.

I suggest you sort out your Papyrus errors first. Get those 700 errors down to less than 30. Also install the missing FNIS scripts, as SL is looking for them. XPMSE seems quite broken as well, most likely because you got a version installed that depends on FNIS while you're using Pandora.

Pandora works fine without FNIS. PBE provides a dummy FNIS esp but I can't see any scripts in either the PBE folder or the PBE Output folder. I there a PBE variant XPMSSE?

It works yes, at least the features I care about, but clearly its throwing lots of Papyrus errors so there is *something* which isn't happening. For some odd reason, Pandora claims to be FNIS-compatible but it doesn't include FNIS scripts. Compatible or not, this doesn't help you much when compiling scripts. So what I do is just copy the scripts from a FNIS install.

Also if you install XPMSE without the MCM and the various configuration options, it essentially drops the FNIS requirement. That would be the "PBE variant of XPMSSE" if you ask me.

Edit: to put it another way, you can have both; but you need to fiddle a bit.

I see. I've never used the skellie with the MCM.

I've never had problems with PBE* so never thought about FNIS scripts.

* Famous last words. 😬

I let it do a default install back in the day and it came with the MCM. I never really touched any of the options. It was only later when I was testing some version of Pandora and XPMSSE started throwing errors that I asked myself "are these things really necessary?". After stripping all the fluff out I discovered that some of the NiOverride options went missing from RaceMenu, so now I have some hybrid of XPMSSE - only the bits I care about. Still running FNIS though.
