Gudulba Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 (edited) I am trying to raise the bounties/crime values for the various crimes in Skyrim on an existing save game. I have tried with Crime Overhaul and Higher Bounties (LE) and I also tried to change the values myself in SSEEdit -> see screenshot in spoiler section. But no matter what I do, the displayed bounties during gameplay always stay at their vanilla values (for example 40 bounty for attacking a guard instead of the 800 I changed it to).  Do these changes only work on a new game? Or what else could prevent the changed values from becoming active?  Spoiler  Edited May 5, 2025 by Gudulba
Just Don't Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 5 hours ago, Gudulba said: Do these changes only work on a new game? AFAIK yes. That info gets baked into your save. Although the actual bounty added to your character should match the game settings, in game dialogue or messages could display the values you had at the time of starting the save. At least that's what happens when you edit things like inn room or carriage costs, the game displays the old values but you still spend the new cost for said services.
PippinTom Posted May 5, 2025 Posted May 5, 2025 (edited) Regarding your screenshot - instead, you my try adding to your mod any of those in the spoiler and see if they work. in your example "iCrimeGoldAttack" should be increased to 800... Â Spoiler GameSetting record (GMST), EDID -- default value ---------------------------- iCrimeAlarmLowRecDistance 2000 Â iCrimeAlarmRecDistance 4000 Â iCrimeCommentNumber 2 Â iCrimeDaysInPrisonMod 100 Â iCrimeEnemyCoolDownTimer 24 Â iCrimeFavorBaseValue 0 Â iCrimeGoldAttack 40 Â iCrimeGoldEscape 100 Â iCrimeGoldMinValue 10 Â iCrimeGoldMurder 1000 Â iCrimeGoldPickpocket 25 Â iCrimeGoldStealHorse 100 Â iCrimeGoldTrespass 5 Â iCrimeGoldWerewolf 1000 Â iCrimeMaxNumberofDaysinJail 7 Â iCrimeRegardBaseValue 0 Â iCrimeValueAttackValue 100 Â Â Â --- edit --- Tested on "pre-existing" savegame - works in my setup without kinks. However, I don't use any overhauls which would interfere with those values. Â Edited May 6, 2025 by PippinTom
Gudulba Posted May 7, 2025 Author Posted May 7, 2025 Thank you both for your input, much appreciated!  I added the iCrimexxx GameSetting record (GMST) records, but the behaviour unfortunately did not change.  Then I stumbled upon the option "Crime Gold - Use defaults" -> see screenshot in spoiler section. Once I disabled this option, my customized Crime Values (CRVA) sprang into action as intended 🙂 Spoiler   1
