anjenthedog Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 (edited) I recently saw a mod at nexus (or somewhere) that purported to do just that.  Why? If you save using the console "save" command, or you clean a file using fallrim tools and Save_As instead of overwriting the source savefile, as fallrim suggests, the resultant save (name) breaks the game chain and become its own new "vector" (ie it becomes an orphan save not attached to your current progress and history)  Unfortunately, I think I was looking for something else at the time and didn't pay it a lot of attention in passing other than thinking "hey cool idea...ima get back to that later", so I have no idea what it is called and I apparently failed to track it, (which surprises me a bit tbh, since that problem is an annoyance of mine too, but whatever, I didn't) and I'm having zero luck tracking it down now that "ima ready to get back to it!"  I think it was published within the past few months, but can't be sure.  Can you help me identify this mod? Maybe you saw it too, or you use it yourself?  thanks Edited May 5, 2025 by anjenthedog
traison Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 (edited) https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/131212 Â Edit: That won't fix the Fallrim save-as issue, as this is an SKSE plugin with an external lookup table. If the lookup table is in some human-readable form I suppose you could edit it yourself. Seems like less trouble to me to keep the file name as it was, overwriting the original and moving the backup somewhere else. Edited May 4, 2025 by traison 1
anjenthedog Posted May 5, 2025 Author Posted May 5, 2025 Thanks. That looks like it. Understood about the fallrim save-as
anjenthedog Posted May 5, 2025 Author Posted May 5, 2025 PS> coulda sworn that fallrim saves were mentioned but apparently not. Maybe it was in which ever post originally led me to it or some post in its posts tab...idk... in any case, the suggestion to simply copy to archive for posterity and direct overwrite the original with fallrim output makes sense.
