Passion mod suddenly causes black screen hang at game startup

I've been playing with the mod for a while, and in just the last day or two, it now causes the game to hang on a black screen at startup. The game never progresses past the black screen. I tried removing specifically this mod and none of my other mods and the game runs fine. I'm playing on Steam, if that helps any.

 

I'm confused and upset and I want to know if there's any way to fix this.

Find the post I made where you can download all the same Sims 3 'disk' you have and stop using Origin/Steam to launch. Save your entire Sims 3 folder in the Electronic Arts section.

 

After a clean install - start the game once - make a save. Now you can just drop the entire Sims 3 folder with saves and settings into the correct spot and override the default crap.

 

I have been doing this for many years as I migrated my Sims 3 game across a couple new computers.

 

Of course 'if' you plan on keep giving EA money for a 15 year old game then you need to choose - Origin, or the High Seas (my choice at this point in time/history concerning this product). If it wasn't for the millions of players making this game better it would have died long, LONG ago.
