Disappearing dead bodies (Ulag, Borvir)

I just realised that dead bodies like Ulag (Sleeping Tree Camp) or Borvir (Journeyman's Nook) just disappear. Never had that happen in LE.

 

Any idea which mod (or is that a vanilla SE/AE 'feature') might be responsible?

Hmmm, I'm not an expert but that definitely does not sound like vanilla. Originally I thought it might just be the game culling dead bodies to boost performance. However, Ulag is a quest related corpse. Borvir was also supposed to be quest related but it looks like the quest was never finished or cut from the game so his body exists only for lore purposes related to a npc in the College of Winterhold. I can't see the game intentionally culling these corpses unless it's a bug. 

 

I don't know a lot about scripting so I don't know if a mod would be doing that either. I think if there is a mod removing their bodies it is also not intentional and a bug unless the mods are somehow related to these characters in some way them in some way. The only mod or 'type' of mods that I can think of that would remove the bodies would be performance boosting mods that are designed to aggressively go after props or bodies and remove them in order to give you more fps.
