racemenu slider for belly-button vertical position?

Recommended Posts

This pops into my head every once and a while when I'm tweaking the body for a female player or NPC in Racemenu, (and is promptly forgotten the next day) so I figured I might ask while it's still on my mind...

Is there a mod out there that adds a belly button vertical position slider?

Is this for a single armor, or what did you have in mind? Asking because this seems like a 5 min job for a single armor, and an infinity to apply to everything.

I was thinking a slider like waist height, or knee height, that would adjust the vertical position of the navel/belly-button. I guess it would primarily act on the naked body, like *other Racemenu slider addons.

*examples: Eyepart Alignment Sliders For Racemenu, Racemenu Schlong Slider, ECE Slider Addon For Racemenu, and Racemenu - Thigh Position Sliders

body type is CBBE-3BA (current), but I think the linked mods work for any body capable of being modded by Racemenu slide adjustments. Schlong slider is admittedly a mesh swapper not a mesh-adjuster, so skip that one. When I had both CBBE-3BBB and BHUNP installed, I used the thigh position sliders successfully with both body types, and also with a couple of the alternate body defs (*UBE/3BA/BHUNP mashup, Vera's Body... possibly V-cut too) I use the ECE sliders routinely, and the eye part sliders mods is new to me, so while installed, and I've fiddled a little, I haven't taken advantage of it in my customizations quite yet.

As well, I vaguely recall early on (Spring/Summer 2019) having the ability to adjust vertical navel position (in Racemenu) with *some* body, although tbh, I don't recall if it was UNP, UUNP, CBBE, CBBE-SMP. CBBE-3BBB, or BHUNP, (all of which I had installed at one time or another) hence the question, since I figured that it must be one of those mods that just "fell by the way side" for whatever reason (didn't get promoted, people didn't care, author moved on, etc) and might still be out there though obscured by the contemporary internet's AI-derived link clutter and my lack of world-class librarian skills ;)

Link sent to mod. See if it's what you had in mind and is of sufficient quality. 5 min job.

Just found the time last night to install and try out. For a while I was digging around in the Racmeenu tabs looking for a new "navel" slider and began muttering "it don't werk myan!", but then I finally took a lok at the file payload and realized it was a Bodyslide addon, not a Racemenu slider addon...doh!)

Not quite what I remembered (an existing mod) or was ~technically looking for, (Bodyslide vs Racemenu level solution), but it definitely allows adjusting the navel's vertical position, so that's a win.

Thank you. More effort than I expected or prolly deserve.

Sorry I somehow missed that. On it. Be a few minutes.

Nah... no real need. I wasn't complaining... just observing... >>> THANK YOU . It does the job, and her navel is now positioned low enough that it fits the intended caricatured "petite cheerleader" model... short and stout. Ended up using a value of 125% for the model, and it looks far "righter" than the way too high position it was at prior.

Interestingly enough, the associated deformation also slightly alters the belly profile (fat distribution in mid lower belly) which is kinda cool.

Ope! dint get that out quick enough ... thanks, I'll check it out. You're too kind.

This is why I said this:

Every armor, every ring, everything that has a vertex near the affected area will have to be converted if you want this slider to show up on them all. Outfit Studio makes this in some regards easy, as you could for instance open the belly ring project in it, import the modified body as a reference and hit Ctrl+C. Remove the reference body parts and you most likely have a ring with new sliders. The problems really arise when you realize OS has no automation in it. Now you're looking at potentially over a thousand projects that need work, and not all of them get good results with default settings.

Whenever I have to do something like convert Remodeled Armor to 3BAv2, I basically reserve half the day and prepare to have to buy a new mouse afterwards. Having a long music playlist helps.

oh... maybe it just luckily worked for the one I tried. Honestly I didn't really "put it through the paces or try to make the ring follow the navel.

understood about adding hooks for each item.

When it comes to edits like this on the naked body, any so called mashup armor piece will most likely work just fine. It's when you use an armor that uses equipment slot 32 (i.e. armor that comes with its own body mesh) that you need to start copying slider data over in Outfit Studio. For instance, you can wear everything except for the tops from TAWOBA with a modified naked body and be just fine (or at worst have some clipping in the edited areas). When you wear the top, which is slot 32, your edits disappear as the morph is no longer available.
