FSMP config for better simulation, reduced clipping ?

Recommended Posts

Hi i noticed my clothing with smp kinda clips through the legs and/or waist. I tried messing with the mcm settings, but hardly see any changes. I would like to know where to even look for these changes. What does group simulation mean? Like multiple characters with smp enabled? And what is ERP exactly? Can this improve the simulation and/or reduce the clipping?

Would any of the preset xlm help? Im not looking for performance but the best simulation what could fit on my character without the clipping.

(no smp on npcs, they are all on cbpc without clothing smp)

Also what is actually the correct avx to install? Im on an i7 12700k. I dont remember which avx i chose for installation, i guess default 1. Cuda recommended to uncheck, but could this help?

As long as you're using a body model and clothing armor model that match 1:1 internally, (ie they contain and respond to the same slider set) they should behave seamlessly under FSMP.

Prob is, these days we have other choices for body models beyond the stock 3BA model, like the UBE/3BA w/Anus alternate body model for 3BA, as well as a few others, along with "extra  sliders" mods, that many armor/clothing models aren't equipped to handle, as they don't include the same nodes. Resultantly, they don't fit properly (clipping) when the player is static and/or they don't fit when on the move.. So if you happen to use an alt body model and or use any of the extra sliders mods, you may be creating this issue for yourself.

Or they're designed for an older 3BA or for stock CBBE... (similar comments could probably be made for the various variants of BHUNP, be it the original, or v2 v3 or v4)

I'm sure someone savvy can add sliders to a given armor set so they fit correctly IF you're using any of those alternate/extra mods or a newer 3BA spec than they were originally designed for. Personally, I'm not savvy, so I just accept that some clipping is going to happen with some wearables for my female player, and on occasion, I create a special preset in Bodyslide to accommodate the disparity (leggings fit is the biggest issue for my player, with breasts coming in in second)

FSMP has a bug, especially with capes and cloaks, where they will clip through the waist. I can't remember the details anymore, except that it was "a known problem".

SMP config files can be anywhere, so the search begins from the armor mesh you're having issues with. If you don't know which mesh that is, then the search begins in finding the form id of the armor you're having issues with, and using xEdit to follow that to the ARMA record which contains the mesh file name.

Margins, collision masks and weightpaint thresholds is what you want to adjust. These are all in the shape elements associated with the meshes that are colliding.

Why not Google it? AVX2 according to Intel.

There's a bit of a bug in Intel chips where AVX2 will cause them to overheat quite easily. I don't know if FSMP even comes close to using these in a capacity that would be an issue, but something to keep in mind.
