Atelier Yumia The Alchemist of Memories nude mods request

Turning off the mods works fine, using Yumia's nude swimsuit mod works, the problem seems to be using more than two nude mods on normal outfits, and when using just 1 of them, this marked dlc outfit glitches on the character being used. That's the menu I was talking about; when I press something, the game crashes, but it only happens in that menu.

It's normal for the textures of DLC outfits to glitch when using nude mods - the costumes share certain textures that no longer fit when changed by a mod.

Regarding the crash in the menu shown: I haven't been able to reproduce it on my system so far - I've also installed several mods for testing purposes; but everything works normally.

##### ##### ##### #####

A quick follow-up question from me, as I didn't notice this at first: Do you currently have TWO nude mods installed for Lenja at the same time?

If I'm interpreting your screenshots correctly, then that seems to be the case.

Since I can't reproduce the crash with my installed mods, I suspect that this might be the explanation for your problem with the menu.

If I remember correctly, all costumes for Lenja (or generally for the main characters) use the same skin texture, which then changes accordingly for each model when a mod adjusts it.

If you install two mods for the same character, then in this case we have two textures changed simultaneously for one (identical) model component - and since the game can only manage one texture per part, we would definitely have a file conflict in this case.

This can also be seen in your screenshots: The first model of Lenja (Slot 5) in the first image from the top has the wrong textures, while the second one in the fifth image from the top (Slot 1; my mod) has the correct textures.

Try installing only ONE nude mod per character (in this case Lenja) and see if the crash still occurs.

It is generally helpful to only install one mod per character at a time (especially if the mods come from different people) - otherwise, as mentioned, conflicts can quickly arise within the files.

Since my mod doesn't change anything except the necessary textures and the character model itself, there isn't much that could be responsible for the crash - I therefore suspect a file conflict in the background.

how can i uninstall the mod for PC, im using the yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb

The "yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb" changes two files inside the "Motor" folder in the installation directory, "root.rdb" and "root.rdx" when used.

Conveniently, the program also creates backups of the old original files. These are then named "root.rdb.original" and "root.rdx.original", respectively.

To reset the game to its original state, delete the files WITHOUT the ".original" extension from the folder and then rename the remaining two files WITH the ".original" extension back (you must change "root.rdx.original" to "root.rdx"; do the same with the second file).

Alternatively, you can delete the four files and use the "Verify Integrity of game files" function in Steam (https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0C48-FCBD-DA71-93EB). Steam will then replace the modified or missing files with the originals, and the game will be as if you had never installed any mods.

Where in the mesh additional to .vb there are also drivermesh and trasformed how I can modify the part ? Usually the .vb mesh is at the base of the character in a different shape. Is there a tutorial for this matter ?

A comprehensive tutorial / wiki on the topic of "modding Atelier games" can be found here --> https://github.com/eArmada8/gust_stuff/wiki

It covers the major points and also some details - although it's for the Ryza series, most of the points also apply to this game with (minor) variations.

Regarding your question about the "drivermesh" or "transformed" components - this quote from the "Ryza 3 Thread" might be helpful:

Sorry, I am not able to understand the entire conversation, as machine translation makes understanding very difficult. I am not able to understand cyn_mod at all, even with machine translation.

To answer your question, cloth meshes (4D) cannot be transferred from other models because there is no way to transfer the physics information, which are dependent on the specific skeleton and special physics nodes.  However, transformed meshes are 3D and therefore can be transferred. Transformed meshes do not have any weight paint though - so you will need to add weight paint.

When transferring transformed meshes, I recommend merging them into the meshes that they attach to and using automatic weight transfer. That is easier.

It is possible to make new meshes if you want, however. Be sure to only add ordinary 3D meshes, do not try to add 4D meshes. Also, you will need to remove all the 4D information. This is achieved by merging the transformed mesh into an ordinary mesh (and then deleting the data from the ordinary mesh). If you read the .fmt file of the transformed mesh, you will understand. There is a lot of extra data that should be removed, including 4D_POSITION, 4D_NORMAL, 4D_TANGENT, PSIZE, BINORMAL, COLOR (if SemanticIndex > 0), FOG and possibly some others. I also think it may be possible to remove the extra garbage information using the edit3dmigoto program, but I think Blender is safest.

Of course, if you add a transformed mesh as a normal mesh, it will not move naturally.

Sadly, I no longer have the corresponding mod on my hard drive and no backup of it, but I can offer to recreate the mod when the opportunity arises.

I'm currently still on the road and therefore don't have access to the tools, but since it's “only” a matter of hiding the stuffed animal, it shouldn't take long.

If I manage to do it, I can promise you one thing in advance: No matter what happens in the forum, I will NOT delete any of my mods on my own.

Okay, very quick update:

Thanks to cloud backup, I quickly grabbed the tools and the corresponding model file and created the mod.

Birb-B-Gone.zip 20.44 kB · 32 downloads

I can't test it in-game because, although I have most of the models and resources in backup, the game doesn't run on my travel laptop and therefore I can't test the mod on the go.

It would be nice if one of you could test it quickly and give me feedback on whether it works or not. If it doesn't, I'll of course correct the error... but then I'll take more time for it ;).

Thank you in advance!

Thanks! felt like been searching on here for a while. Always leading to unanswered previous questions and broken links.

Hello guys. I'm not sure if it's due to my hardware or the game but even at maxed settings when I equip swimsuits on the characters it can look very pixelated and aliased. Has anyone created a mod that improves the characters' skin textures?

That's probably not so easy to solve - when it comes to graphics problems, it's always a bit tricky, especially since the whole thing depends on various factors:

  • Hardware
  • Drivers
  • Screen resolution
  • In-game graphics settings
  • ...

That's a pretty individual thing - you could probably upload dozens of screenshots and then have a wonderful argument about whether it looks OK or not.

If I remember correctly, one of the common user recommendations at the time was to turn off anti-aliasing and some other graphic effects or reduce them to a minimum in order to counteract this at least a little. Some have even claimed that the game looks better with lower settings than with higher ones, but to be honest, I've never compared them myself.

For example, one could try to achieve some improvements via the graphics card (NVIDIA Control Panel) or third-party tools like ReShade.

The latter isn't my area of expertise, though—I only happened to see two ReShade presets for Atelier Yumia back then, and they both looked terrible. It's quite possible things have changed since then...

Editing the character textures will probably only make a minimal difference - the blurry overall impression of the graphics was already criticized at release.

In that context, there's probably another problem: during my modding attempts, I encountered the issue that the game crashes immediately upon loading if the resolution of certain textures exceeds 2048x2048.

Whether this is due to a hardcoded limitation, the game engine, or my own incompetence, I can't say.

Unfortunately, that's all I can say based on my experience so far - perhaps someone else has better input.

It has been a while since I played this game, but I believe the backpack is part of the costume model.  It is not separate like the doll.  (This means that every costume has its own backpack.)

Hi @Bacon68,

what amorrow28 wrote is correct - the backpack always belongs to the respective Yumia character model and is not a separate item (see this screenshot for example).

image.png.ab9be38ebe26ea6188593fd6024624d2.pngIn this context, this means that you have to hide the backpack separately for each costume... not very complicated, but still a little work.

That's probably also the reason why THE complete mod for it doesn't exist yet.

From my own experience, I can also say (my costume mods for Yumia all generally didn't include backpacks): If you hide the backpack, it sadly also "breaks" some of the animations, e.g., when performing alchemy - Yumia's flying companion usually disappears into the backpack.

And additionally if you want to try it yourself:

The model variant without a jacket has the file name 0x66701eba.g1m - in that case, it should be sufficient to delete all files numbered "21" and "22" after unpacking the model and then re-import them. You can even do this directly in File Explorer; you don't need a 3D program like Blender.

The existing tutorials should be sufficient for everything else.

is it 21 and 22 for all the outfits or just that specific one? 🤔

In this case, this only applies to the costume version shown without the jacket – I just happened to have the screenshot handy, as I had been taking a closer look at the backpacks during my own modding attempts.

I don't know the values for the other models offhand; you would have to look at them in Blender to determine the correct values for the two relevant parts of the other models.

Of interest for anyone still playing this game (or any other game using my modding toolset, e.g. Nioh 3 or DOAX Prism), I've made an update to yumia_mod_insert_into_rdb.exe (v1.1.3).  As of the new version, the script can now detect when the game updates, and prompt the user to replace the backups and re-apply mods.  It does this by comparing the current files to the last known mod insertion, so be sure to run it at least once so that it creates the signatures (root.rdb.sha256 and root.rdx.sha256).

(As a reminder - how to use mods and how to make mods.  If you're looking for my mods, here: Fully Nude Mod and Revealing Mod)
