there must be some way to download AAF without discord

I've tried everything, I just can't seem to find a way to download any recent version of AAF, because I can't login/sign up at this terrible discord service. At some point I'm always taken to a phone verification step and discord always claims my phone number is invalid. It's an old mobile, not a smart phone, and it's the only phone I have. I've tried all kinds of formatting, e.g. with or without leading zero after the country code, it works everywhere else (e.g. Steam), but not with discord and their customer service is not replying either. Isn't there any mirror or backup storage where I could get the mod from instead?

Discord is not a terrible service, it is the only place to access the AAF download, asking another to provide it off site is an offense that will get you banned from LL, possibly labeled a pirate. 

My advice is to take your time, learn how to log in to discord, download it there just as we all have done.

Or use a different animation framework.

After switching "moddingham" to discord, they are also unavailable to me.

Let me clarify, I did not ask anyone to provide something off site or illegal, I simply asked if there's another official mirror or backup storage. Okay, so there isn't, fine. Thanks for your answer. 

 

As for your advice, learning how to log in to discord, I've certainly tried. I'm still stuck at that phone verification step. I've tried everything short of buying a new phone, and it certainly doesn't help that their support isn't responding either. So yes, from my point of view, Discord is a very terrible service and no other service has ever caused me problems like that.

 

Using a different animation framework? Sure, would you kindly point me into the right direction for that? Every mod on this site seems to be built upon AAF, though.

I did not nor do I use a phone verification, you can have an email sent, which I utilize to verify but that only happens when one does not log in often.

That's good for you. Maybe they've flagged my IP, or it's that because of that invite link from Loverslab. I've tried both an existing account and creating a new one with a different email address. Either way, right after email verification, they claim that they also need phone verification and then they claim my phone number is invalid.

Let me know if you find a solution. I have a friend* in similar circs and no help from Discord. He has tried a new phone but always gets stuck with an 'invalid phone number' msg.

*Seriously. I don't use Discord much but have never had trouble logging in. I DO have trouble with it interrupting other programs such as FO 4 and Skyrim, so I always make sure to use Task Master to kill it right after I close the program.

Okay, here's an update on my situation: Discord's customer support finally got back to me and they've reset my login status - I had to reset my password and afterwards it worked again. 😌They claimed, I had been locked out by their spam filter and kinda implied that the whole mess was my fault, but the fact that they reset my account rather than fixing their phone verification really doesn't speak in their favor.

 

It still took me a while to figure out how to actually download AAF even after I finally managed to log into Discord. That file really is well hidden. I don't mean to be ungrateful, it's a free, high qulaity mod after all, but maybe it's time to consider providing an official mirror as I'm obviously not the only one who's got trouble downloading from Discord?

@jackqc good to hear that you got it sorted out. There are a lot of reasons and history behind where AAF is hosted. Wasn't the first choice and many options were either tried or considered.
