instant crashing when zoom out

i'm not sure what is causing my whole computer to crash/shut off.

the only errors i've been getting are these screenshots, from don't know what mod.

then the sec i zoom out 3rd person view, *dead computer*

no CTD, just *poot*

A hardware or driver issue. Some more common causes for this:

1. Overclocking, even if it was stable at one point, is no longer stable. This includes XMP memory profiles (and AMD's equivalent).
2. Windows updates.
3. Viruses. Unlikely in this case I'd say, if Skyrim is the only thing triggering a shutdown.
4. A bad driver. This includes Windows native drivers, your anti-virus, your keyboard driver and the anti-cheat in any modern multiplayer game.
5. A broken device, such as GPU or RAM.
6. Low voltage. A bad or broken PSU.
7. Overheating.

Start by inspecting the event log:

1. Windows + R
2. "eventvwr.msc"
3. Windows Logs -> System
4. Look for entries marked with a red exclamation mark icon, verify the date matches more or less. The source might be "BugCheck".
5. Make notes of the descriptions of all events you find relevant.
6. Post them here in a spoiler tag if you want me to look at them.

Next, get a utility for monitoring voltages and temperatures. HWiNFO64 can do this. Check your device specifications for max temperatures and make sure you're not close to or exceeding any of them. Voltages must be exact: 3.3 can't be 3.1 or 3.6 volts, 12 can't be 11 and so on.

 

If you want to see the BSOD in the future (assuming its not being shown now), disable automatic restart:

1. Windows + R
2. "sysdm.cpl"
3. Advanced (tab) -> Start-up and Recovery (group) -> Settings...
4. Uncheck: System failure (group) -> Automatically restart
