Reefymapupset Posted January 25, 2025 Posted January 25, 2025 Anyone else have issues with this? This issue has plagued my game for years. After a while of playing the game gets progressively slower and starts stuttering like crazy. Just wanted to see if there was a definitive solution to that. I do run script mods that periodically clean records. It seems to work okay but it still feels like the game is being bloated which manifests similarly to a memory-leak. Game is playable thanks to those fixes, but I can only assume it would play even better if those records never register at all.
Omicr0n Posted January 26, 2025 Posted January 26, 2025 What are you referring to exactly when you say "vehicle records". Do you mean there's an excess of vehicles piling up in your world? Typically that's something Overwatch would clean up each night. As far why it happens I have no idea. I've never personally experienced it, but I've seen other people mention that hundreds or thousands of vehicles were being cleaned up each night.

I'm not sure exactly what they are but I assume they are just the records themselves as I've never witnessed an overabundance of actual vehicles. That would also likely be concordant with the number of records reported being that they often number in the thousands. In my game I had to set it to clean up every hour or so as they pile up so fast. I am deeply perplexed as to why this would be an isolated issue. The game has always run like crap in any iteration and on any machine.
landess Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 (edited) I have Nraas traffic mod and I always set taxis to -500 so they never spawn for 'ambient visuals'. This doesn't affect a sims ability to call/use a taxi unless you change setting to disallow use of them, limos, etc. It's a nice little tuning addition. Don't want ice cream trucks, food trucks - there ya go. It has enough generic options for me. As for game play - saves will incur growth that I can never figure out. Example: Using Los Aniegos, I had it fully populated with customized Sims, and had made changes to MANY lots including the clubs, and other social areas. After some time the save kept growing and I could shave it down using Save Cleaner which has always worked for me. Regardless the save did indeed keep growing and when the save file size was reaching 275MB and load time was 1/2 hour I had to do something - So I pulled Every Household I wanted to keep to the Library except for one token household for the 'save file' and checked the save file size. It was still huge - probably around 200MB. I then started a new save file (series) in the same world, replaced all the households back and added a few new ones to replace those I didn't keep, made a save and it was around 68MB. So a new 'fully' populated world was far less in save file size than the old one with virtually no population. Edited February 4, 2025 by landess 2
