Help with camera angle during sex scenes

(using Flowergirls and playing on Steam Deck)

First time playing the game or modding it. I finally got everything more or less the way I want it for now except for one thing,

I can't see shit during sex scenes. The fixed camera angle is unacceptable and I can't understand how to fix it.

Supposedly there's a free camera option but when I try to use it via Flowergirls the game refuses to register it and when I try to input the free camera command on the cheat console it instantly crashes the game back to MO2. Either way it doesn't work.

I tried installing a mod to fix the third person camera (Smoothcam) but I don't see that anything changed at all. I'm still stuck with an extremely shitty camera angle.

And going out into a field somewhere doesn't make a big (any?) difference compared to the inside of a building.

How do you center the screen on the characters during sex scenes? How do you control the camera vertically AND horizontally?

Is this problem exclusive to Flowergirls? Would I have to deal with this if I used either Sexlab or Ostim Standalone?

If I can fix this with a camera mod, what mod should I be using on what settings?

Is the camera node baked into the animation?

If the problem is not the animation you're playing then I would suggest you do the opposite. Fixing the damage done by a mod, by installing another mod seems weird to me. Remove the broken mod instead.

Like eating junk food, then stuffing your face full of meds trying to not die to the food you just ate.

Too soon?

I have no idea and no clue how I would even find that information.

Flowergirls doesn't let you choose the animations. It just runs on its own. There's a separate mod (I think by a different author) to let you choose what animations play but as far as I can tell that doesn't work either. There's a place in the MCM settings to assign a button to bring that up but (just like with the free camera setting in Flowergirls) pressing that button does nothing, either in or out of sex scenes.

What broken mod? Flowergirls? How do I know that's not working as intended? Everything else in the mod seems to work fine...

I can only guess that this is a problem because the base game never intended for you to need to see from those angles but I've never heard of this being an issue before. None of the modding guides or mod pages ever mention anything about camera mods being required or recommended.

Is it hard to see scenes by default in Sexlab or Ostim?

When the animation takes over the camera position and/or motion, that's one way to tell. It seems to be somewhat common in dance animations, for whatever reason.

The one that's currently stopping your ufo camera from working (tfc), and eventually crashing your game.

You could attempt to grab a log from that crash. Perhaps it reveals the problem.

No. The animations in SL do not move the camera, or at least I don't recall ever seeing a pack containing any. There may have been some back in pre-LE.

So on the off chance that anybody cares I did figure this out.

Apparently by default Skyrim only lets you bind certain keyboard keys as hotkeys. I changed to using a letter key I assumed was unused (v), as opposed to the default `~ key or something like right Alt.

I don't know if I needed to or not but I downloaded the Extended Hotkey System mod since I was wondering if it was related to using a gamepad. (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32225)

Anyway, the camera's working fine now, more or less. If only that were the end of it. Now I'm noticing that some of the animations kinda really suck when you zoom in (not aligned perfectly or not actually penetrating etc etc) and I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the limitations of Flowergirls in general.

I don't know if the others would be any better (and Sexlab keeps crashing before it even launches) but I'm thinking it's back to tinkering endlessly with mods instead of actually playing again. *sigh*

I feel like the solution that YukinariSasaki found is only hiding the issue. Wouldn't be surprised to see them back here with the same question in 6-12 months.

Apparently it's the Steam Deck's virtual keyboard closing that causes the crash. I never have this problem when naming a new character on a new game but in any other context that I've seen (like using the search feature in Ostim) trying to type instantly crashes.
