Just wanted to share my experience with an e-cig

i am a f...ing smoker totaly addict  i smoke (was smoking) about  2 packs a day

i have tryed to quit few times  alone with nothing  after 3 weeks  generaly i failed and smoke again

took patches was not effective  tryed with chewing-gum and had pain in my mouth and failed again.

i heard a lot of cheet about that e-cig and dangerous things about that.

but what about cigarettes it is not better and worse !!!

than i decided to switch   not so convinced and not reassured

- it is heavyer than a cigarette can not keep it in mouth

- need to push on a little button each time i smoke

- the tast is not realy the same as a cigarette no matter what it will never have the same burned smoke tast a cigarette tast.

well after a month of use i can tell from my own experience      for the danger i do not know and futur would tell

- what i can say is that my house and clothes does not smell ennoying tabaco anymore

- i am not anymore breathless after sport and it is getting better

- a good effect i spend less money (e-cig less expensive)

- and now i am addicted to it

next thing to do is to quit e-cig !!!

did anyone experience with it and had or not the addictive effect ?

would it be as difficult to quit as cigarettes ?

Hate to give my age away but I was a smoker for 30 years.I've smoked ecigs for about a year.I know it has made a difference for me and isn't as unhealthy as cigarettes.Ecigs come in various forms and also various strengths 48mg-0mg.You can go the route MajinCry said or you could slowly reduce the MG of nicotine till 6 or zero MG.I know if you had the willpower to quit cigs then ecigs should be easy.I have done without my ecig for a couple of weeks before but I enjoy it and don't use it much anyway.

I don't really get what risk there is from these things. I saw a picture a while back with some dude with half his face blown off, and he blamed the e-cig for it.

But I don't really buy it. Something tells me he was doing something beyond retarded.

And am a smoker btw.

yes i traded a vice for an other and i hope i will get rid of this one in few monthes

i might try to quit e-cig in few monthes and i will see

just for the knowlege you can make explosives from chocolate (magnesium)

belive me when you wake up without the cigarette smell and when you make sport with more breathing capacity without sweating like a sponge you realize that     sheatboro    compagny   is making all to make you feel like superman but you are just a money cow for them and do not give a sheat about your health just for your addiction

you are right the world become like this money need and remain healthy and everything else can die

but i do not want to change the world just my world

Posted

You'd rather just fix your problems, uncaring for the world's?

Then you are part of the problem. It's that mindset which fosters greed. It's the same one held by the CEO who takes a massive bonus whilst his workers are made redundant.

NO  here you are mistaken   a lot today are screaming disgusted from what is going on     but do nothing about it

they want to change the world a way of living but do not give any exemple nor they follow their words

i am changing my world and give an exemple slowly i show there is an other way

i do not ask people to follow my words and i act just for myself  (change come sometimes from alot of individuals another way)

Strength and will power my friend. It's all mind control. And never tell yourself you can't stop.

Have you ever tried taking a different approach? I think the problem that lies between a person and his addiction is to abruptly quit all of a sudden. I think the task that should be taken is to minimize your usage. Probably take a notepad or any kind of paper and write down a list  and try to meet that criteria. Don't all of a sudden smoke from 1 pack worths of e-cig to like 5 at once. Because I think that's where the problem persists. I think over time if you slowly reduce your amount of inhales per cigs, you'll slowly start to smoke less and less and gain a greater chance of not needing to smoke anymore.

I'm no smoker. I am a social drinker. I can have a 12 pack sitting in the fridge for months and not touch a bottle. Because I know I don't "need" it. I drink when ever I have the urge. And I think that would probably be more suiting in your case.

e-cig is a nice thing. I got mine 6 months ago, when I wanted to smoke in places where it is usually forbidden, like train, rental cars, hotels. I need to travel a lot and being a smoker has become a problem in this. So my intention never was to stop smoking cigarettes, but I did. Happened by itself. Sitting on computer, having e-cig and afterwards I did not want to have my normal ones. Now it happens from time to time that I forget my e-cig and do not smoke over complete day. 6 months ago, this was unthinkable. So what I want to say: For some people (like me and some of my friends) e-cigarette was a way to sneak out of the addiction easy.

And about the health impact of e-cigarettes: Here in germany we have about 2 millions of e-cigarette smokers. Lets just say that half of them buys a package of cigarettes per day. Its 5 million euro which does PM, BAT and the others don´t get. For what I believe: With the loss of the income of one day - I can buy every study I like. And with the loss of the second day I pay newspapers to print and tell about the horrible effects an e-cig has.

Fact is: The main base fluid is used in various products, like astma spray, etc. The taste comes from food supplies and can be eaten. And the nicotine is pure nicotine without all the dirt you get in cigarette. And please everybody who does not believe google for themselves: Nicotin does not have an health effect except for the addicition. Its like coffein. Of course, when I drink it - I die. But I also die when I eat 200gr. of salt...

Just my opinion...

Holgie

Nicotine does have an adverse health effect. It's an uber powerful stimulant. And I can show you how to demonstrate what it does to you......

Get up in the morning. Don't smoke yet. Take your pulse. And adult male at this point should probably have a pulse rate of about 50 beats per minute. Now smoke. Take just 10 good morning drags off your smoke and be sure to get deep inhales each time (you're going to anyway, it's the morning smoke). After the 10 good drags take your pulse again then come back and tell me what it was.

Of course, I already know what you'll post. You'll post an increase in heartrate of at least 20 beats per minute. :o And this is where the heart disease part of tobacco use comes in, and it doesn't matter if you're using snuff, chewing tobacco, cigarettes or E-cigs. Nicotine in your bloodstream is nicotine in your bloodstream.

And this is from a smoker of 27 years, folks. But a realistic one. :D

Only use for electronics is to smoke in places you can't have the real thing. Or when you run out of money and tobacco at the same time, with no money coming in for a few weeks. The struggle is real.

I smoke herb in my portable vaporizer I bought, pretty fucking awesome too. I never tried a e-cig though, I might buy one just to see what the deal is.

I'm tempted to try e-cig.

the e-cig is not a big deal    there is the nicotine there is the smoke effect  but it is not the same thing it is just a switch to cut of from cigarettes and to stop.

i hope holgie is right as it is a week i am thinking about smoking a normal cig i find my self looking for one  than think about the e-cig

but i am realy happy not to have any more cigarettes on me .

and for those who does not smoke i hope they do not touch this staff   nicotine = addiction    why to bother with dependancies when it is even not usefull.

i am thinking the same about some herbals as sunspotz mentioned  i like to be the pilote when i am flying !

Well I am not a smoker, but I'm eager to try it. The only addiction I have is games. So I would do it casually or socially like drinking.

Smoked for about 25 years - three packs a day at end

October 31st was last real cigarette

Am smoking e-cigs now, clothes, house, my breath smell a lot better.

Was always in fairly good shape, MUCH better shape now.

Money-wise, the e-cigs end up costing close to same. Poorly engineered products, quite possibly intentional.

(gotta keep sales up, you know)

Have cut back from 18 mg nicotine to 6 mg, noticed I "vape" more with lesser nicotine content.

Have I traded one vice for another? Yup.

Do I still crave cigarettes? Yup.

Would I start smoking again? Never say never, but I don't believe I would.

Now for the politically incorrect portion. Where I live tobacco is taxed about the 500% level (Nearby US town is less than a third of what we pay). That pricing is a money-grab from government, and is slowly making it's way to other products (alcohol, e-cigs, etc)

Forget tobacco, government policy is a greater risk to my health.

Just my $0.02 (CDN)

Yeah, I know you Canadians are hit pretty hard with tobacco taxes. I've made the mistake of buying smokes there. Geesh! Ridiculous....

It's getting worse here south of the border, too. Heck, a couple years ago the taxes were raised so high that some tobacco products nearly tripled in price. :o I now make my own cigarettes and can make them as cheap as $.65 a pack. This is for the Seneca brand tobacco (a Native American owned company, so it's chemical-free and I assume they pay less or no tax) and using Zig Zag brand "light" tubes/filters.

Regardless, I think that using taxation as a social engineering tool is getting into an area that governments in a "free" nation shouldn't be getting into. If you can't choose what to ingest then you really can't consider yourself "free" by any definition.

It's not really trading one vice for another so much as switching from say beer to wine when you drink, it's all nicotine...I really don't like e-cigs though can't stand the taste of the vapours (most I have tried taste like badly artificially flavored foods and candies), prefer the taste of real smoke, but I am glad it is working for you.

I managed to cut down on my smoking by only smoking outside now (roughly a half pack a day between my wife and I). Don't smoke in the new apartment (over a year now and through two lovely Canadian winters), no smoking in the new car either (since we got it septemberish). Really makes a difference in the air quality at home, the car smells great, and the white walls are still white, not yellow;), I might try to quit again completely, but my wife says it makes me too much of an asshole for those first two horrible weeks. Expense is also getting to be an issue.

Best of luck to all you quitters, and hopefully I will join you soon as smoke free.

buy the more expansive e cigs. their not as heavy and no button pressing needed.

i dont smoke but i know like.. 6 ppl they tried the "blue" e cigs? or w.e their called.

I know one friends been using it for like.. 2 years he went from the marbols to the regular e cig, and now he is using the kind without the nicotin in it. he tells me 3/4 the problem is just smoking whenever hes stressed (hes in the army) so he smokes them now as a force of habit but the kind without nicotin.  so id say t hey helped him out.
