How the hell are screenshots on file uploads sorted on LL?

I spent a solid 30 min trying to get the images that accompany my file to display in the correct order. They are not sorted numerically, alphabetically or by creation date. Upload order also doesn't seem to matter. They are just in some random order.

 

Has anyone figured out how to get the images in proper order?

Assuming you mean screenshots on file uploads, here's how I've tried to explain it in the past:

 

It's "most recently uploaded images show first." With the basic caveat that if you upload multiple at the same time, then those ones will show in the order you uploaded during the edit.  

 

For example, you have the following 3 screenshots currently in this order:

• a.png
• b.png
• c.png

If you upload a new screenshot called x.png and save your changes, your screenshots will be.

• x.png
• a.png
• b.png
• c.png

If you then edit your file again to upload 2 more screenshots at the same time, named y.png and z.png, your order will be

• y.png
• z.png
• x.png
• a.png
• b.png
• c.png

Thx for the answer. For clarification, yes i mean "screenshots on file uploads".

 

So you are saying, that I cannot control the order of images I upload in the same edit?

 

If I upload my files all in one go it looks like this:

 

Then after saving the images are ordered like this:

 

 

So to get the order I want I have to upload each image in it's own edit starting with the last image?

I can't confirm this. In my testing it didn't matter what order I uploaded the images in during the edit. They always ended up in a seemingly random order...

I'm having the same issue when posting a file with attached images, no matter if I upload them in a specific order and having them named in alphabetic order, they always upload in randomly...
