deathmorph Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) Previously, I had a start-up time of around 1 to 3 minutes between the ENB start screen and the actual game. That has changed. Now the game takes around 72 minutes or more to start after the ENB screen. I first thought it was Buffout, as there were problems with it via Vortex shortly before. However, I reinstalled Buffout, unfortunately that wasn't the problem. I know that some players have to wait around 10 minutes. That would be fine for me. But the jump from 3 to 72 minutes is pretty crazy. Does anyone know the problem and know the cause or solution? edit: I've now measured the time and updated the numbers. Canaduh Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Are you playing via steam? Have you disabled cloud sync?

katrina.balanchuk Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 have you tried starting game while not connected to the internet?

I start Vortex, Vortex starts Steam and the download of the update stops because the file is write-protected (I use .163). Then I start Fallout via Vortex. If Steam is already running, of course, then the first step is omitted. Then the ENB start screen appears and after a good hour then Fallout. I haven't changed anything in the processes, the same as before, except that until recently the game would run after 5 minutes at the most.

Try running steam in offline mod, ignore vortex and just click on the f4se_loader.exe as you must be running the script extender if you have buffout

PS: new record 1:25 h. But when the game is running, it's running Edited December 28, 2024 by deathmorph
deathmorph Posted December 30, 2024 Author Posted December 30, 2024 I think I had overloaded my system. I had previously only installed Sim Settlements 2 Chapter 1 and had supplemented this with Chapters 2 and 3 and the expansion pack. Additionally with PACE and PANPC, which were supposed to improve the combat behavior of companions and NPCs. And it should be pretty script-heavy. I have now uninstalled all of this except for SS2 Chapter 1 and voila, the game now starts again after 3 minutes. Problem solved.
nmagod Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 3 minutes is still a considerable amount of time are you running from a platter HDD, a sata SSD, or an M2 SSD?
