Sexlab P+ problems (user error)

Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for the help I've gotten so far - including you wonderful mod and guide makers - as you've managed to drag a person that has never modded before and got them up to having SexLab and bestiality mods up and running.

 

Lately, while perusing mods and other guides, I keep seeing Sexlab P+ (which seesm to just be a better version of Sexlab). When I installed it however, everything stopped working.

 

The game wouldn't even start as the "animation registry was empty" despite me having plenty of animations running through SLAL. Now this is undoubtedly user error on my part, but all the bits I've seen on the P+ threads don't make any sense to me.

 

Could someone give me an idiot proof guide to getting it up and running?

 

I used this to start with:

figured out all by myself that SOS needed to be changed to New Gentleman (go me, huh), and I've added Billy's, Anubs, and ZaZ8 and got them all working on basic Sexlab.

 

Also got Animal Mansion, and some new Draugr textures.

 

Just... yeah, lost. All very confusing.

I'm a simple soul.

As I don't use P+ I'm not sure if this will actually be the start of the solution for you, but the major mistake I see a lot of people have with P+ is thinking that it's just plug and play Sexlab.  P+ does not use SLAL.  You do still use the SLAL animation packs, but SLAL itself is aimed at Sexlab, not P+.

 

Instead you need to download a conversion file that puts it in "SLSB" format which P+ loads ahead of time.  In theory this skips the long arduous registering of SLAL animations that we all know and love.

 

The SLSB download files are either on the mod author's discord, or the two files titled "Automated.SLSB.Conversions" in the P+ downloads

I don't use P+ so can't help there chief. After the holidays are over I'll go over the guide and update some instructions and switch recommended mods to simplify the process, but I still think P+ won't make it. I could give it a try if I have the time and see how much I'd need to cut from my personal modlist to see if it's worth the addition (both for personal use and for a guide made with a very generalist approach).

P+ isn't covered in my guide because it's a big departure of base SL (in my opinion). You can totally use SL without it, or give P+ a try and adjust your modlist for it (because some mods that work fine with base SL won't work with P+).
