SirDuke Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Hey folks, I've been thinkin' about a new run on the OLD version of skyrim. I've last played it back in 2018. I got everything pretty much saved up, Mod Organizer did a good job and all mods are working fine. I can easily load my old save and continue, where I stopped... BUT I kinda wanna start a new game, a new charachter. The only thing, stopping me, are the dozens and dozens of mods, that would need new adjustment ingame. Since I do have everything running, adjusted and sorted in my old save file, can I somehow transfer these ingame adjustments to a fresh new start?
NymphoElf Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) If you're going through all of this trouble, I would recommend using SE/AE instead of LE. There are more mods available for SE/AE, and every mod worth using has been updated to SE/AE at this point. There's really no reason to stay on LE unless you're still in the middle of a save on LE, but from what I understand it sounds like you're starting a new game, hence my recommendation. For a mod that saves your MCM Configuration, I recommend MCM Recorder. It's not perfect, but will drastically reduce time spent re-applying MCM settings when you start a new game. The only downside is that you have to redo all of the options manually at least once so MCM Recorder can, well, record it. Edited December 23, 2024 by NymphoElf
SirDuke Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 Thanks, I'll have a look into MCM Recorder asap. I hear you, on the hint to play SE (ans yes, I do own both now...), but all my mods are specifically fine-tuned into every detail of my old game. Nothing in this world can make me re-do this, and re-invest all the time. Just keep in mind, it's been almost seven years now, since I last touched Skyrim. I pretty much don't even remember, what all my mods do... But I do know, that they still work fine, as they are... Just, and you got me quite right there, I wanna restart a new character and here again, I can't invest all the time and effort to re-tune all my mods again
